I've had my '03 for about a year now. I've typically had sports cars from Cobras to my most recent, '93 GTR as dailys. This thing is by far my favorite daily I've had. Even at 223k miles the wear on it, if any, has held up better than even cars I've seen with 1/4 the mileage and still drives smooth and comfortable. Toyota really knew what they were doing with this. In regards to the AHC, I absolutely love it. In all reality, the stock suspension will outlast traditional coil and shock setups by a long shot. I just had to replace the accumulators and fluid, $450 total and 2 hours of my time. Now I got another 200k miles on the setup, it rides like a cloud, and still adjustable. I highly recommend keeping it if anyone's considering deleting it.

Have had my 05 LX for almost a year and it nice. Figure out how to properly use the 4WD, get off the pavement, and test out the CDL and 4L just to make sure it is working properly. I had to change a switch on the CDL because it would not properly unlock and the A-TRAC was not kicking in. Do keep in mind they are old and some things will start to fail of just need to be replaced. My alternator failed on me and that was not cheap. I did swap out some of the door weather stripping because they would cause so much noise. Parts are expensive so just be aware of that. But I do like it and when my daily got totaled recently the LX is now my main ride.

My 06 LX just crossed 245k. With gas being as expensive as it is, I cannot daily it but I do go out to the mountains up 4x4 trails a fair amount with it. My personal advice: the load leveling hydraulic height control is much better than what you can replace it with. It’s the best of both worlds. Good highway performance and 2” lift when needed (2.5” if t case is in low range). You are going to want to follow YotaMDs video on doing a AHC health check. I got replacement accumulators from Japan for much cheaper than you can get in the US. Now it rides like new again. The ride quality on the AHC system is hard to beat for something that size. Maybe a Range Rover? By the way mine has grey interior too. I love it. Also - setting the t case in low automatically locks the center differential and turns off VSC. Since yours is a non vvti, it might not sound great but mine when the vtec kicks in yo - it sounds gnarly. Also watch out for heater t leaks and every 90k miles do the timing belt, pulleys, tensioners, water pump, drive belt and bobs your uncle, the engine will far outlast the body. Oh and there are cup holders in the back at the rear of the center console. None of the 98-07 100 series were triple locked. The 98/99 models had optional rear diff locker but it was all replaced by A trac which is pretty good.

Love this video! Great purchase. Welcome to the LX fam! So for 100 series. Only the very early model land cruisers had a rear locker with the center locker. 98-07 LX470s never got a locker option I believe. The 80 series land cruisers were the ones that you could get “triple locked.” A center locker really isn’t anything crazy, it just puts it in true 4hi as opposed to being in awd. You can also buy the “part time kit” from cruiser outfitters which allows you to have manual hubs and make the truck 2wd (rwd) which can help with fuel economy and be useful on the trails. Definitely a solid find dude. Stoked to see the progress on this

Toyota ATRAC kind of replaces the need of solid lockers, it's the system that "breaks" a spinning/popped wheel sending power to its sister wheel. Not as good as triple locked, but it should take care of anything but the most severe rock crawling. I think this is the compromise they struck when they decided on IFS

Also, in this model they have KDSS and ATRAC. The absence of the engine plastic cover is beneficial as it allows air flow which cools the starter that's located under the manifold. The Starter Location under the intake manifold in the 4.7L 2UZ Engine was a poor design that causes premature starter failure due to excessive heat. An No, The last Triple-Locked cruiser was the 80 Series/ Lexus LX450. As stated above, the ATRAC eliminated the need for FLD and RLD. ATRAC is self executing and most drivers don't even know its there. It's reactionary rather than activated. Thanks for your honest review brother. I love your humble, calm spirit. Enjoy the rig.
