Frankly, this debate will go on longer than both the vehicles. No doubt they r both iconic. The choice is on individuals. If we include the jeep wiilys, jeep wrangler and toyota hilux, the debate will become even more dramatic. Lets accept the truth, Land Rover and Willys are grand daddies of all off roaders. The cruiser, wrangler and hilux came later but are superb vehicles.

Land Cruisers have been in my family since 1983. Two FJ40s and my parents purchased a new FJ60 in 1984 for our road trip and off-road vehicle. Went everywhere in it and never failed us. My father is still mad for selling it in 2012. Since I had so many memories in it since I was a kid, I purchased a rust free all original FJ62 in 2017 and did modifications that I envisioned doing to my father’s back when I was in high school. It’s a head turner at car shows and attracts crowds of people. Too nice to beat up offroading. That’s why you get two of them. One for show and one for go. Best money ever spent. Land Cruiser all the way 👍

In the family, we have a LC150 and a Range Rover Autobiography. My brother and I switch between the two, and we use them hard, we don't drive them just to the shops. We travel in them alot and from March to now, we put just over 10,000 miles on each, we've experienced no problems with any. I get it with the reliability of the Toyota, but the Range Rover has proved itself, is not our first, I've had a LR3 and that was the same, fantastic, no problems. Sold that at 100,000 miles simple because I moved abroad for a while. Love them both.
