A few corrections to commentary in the video above:
• HP output is 165hp
• Torque is 260ft/lbs
• Our Troopy initially had a 1HZ engine before it was first built out by Maltec Trucks.
• It's drivetrain is similar to Eurospec 80 Series Land Cruisers from the early 90's.

Mate i ve got a troopy myself and every time i let someone else drive it, i always tell them that it feels very different from a normal car. When you said "it feels like i am driving a T-rex" i was in tears as that is by far the best way to describe how the troopy feels! Thanks for the video guys. Love your truck!

Great video. You drive a legend. I learned to drive on an FJ Land Cruiser. I love these cars. Today, I drive a Toyota Fortuner. It's so different from the Land Cruisers, but it's a Toyota. Reliable like no one else!

my '72 Wagoneer is also "pre-technology", YOU are the brains, not some ridiculous computer. (I think of it as "the total driving experience") Similar to your Troopy, it's no race car, but has an acceptable, but not stellar on-road feel, but is absolutely an off-road superstar. Lets hear it for Caveman technology, regardless the marqee! 😀

You guys had a hard decision to make but I'm very sure you got it right! I just came back from a 18 months 25'000 miles trip through South and Central America in our 75 series Troopy. We abused her badly but she literally never broke down on us. Not-a-single-issue-at-all!! Give her oil and diesel and enjoy your trip. Looking forward to more videos.

I just got done watching your good bye to the syncro. My first car was a car that was built to be 1/4 mile fast and it really was. I loved that feeling of being shoved back in the seat when you nailed it but trying to drive it every day was not what it was built for. It was a good tool but the wrong tool for the job I was trying to do. So I know what it is like to love a vehicle but work on it more than enjoy it. Still hard to let go. I hope that the troopy is being a good tool for what you are trying to do and showing you some love. Hopefully it is growing on you and maybe just be able to enjoy your adventures and not worry about what goes wrong next. Best of luck!!
