Brother, you have one of the most positive attitudes I've ever seen. I'd be cursing up a storm at those rivnuts. Bravo my dude. Table looks great!

hahahah rooky mistake mate - we have all been there, the saying I go with is "less is more", you will always get a better job if you can do it with hand tools even if it takes a bit longer. Cheers from Aussie.

@@BenStinnett I have a 85 FJ60 that's in need of a bit of work but this is inspiring me to get after it!

Nice job. I feel your pain about the extra work. I should have "haste makes waste" tattooed on my forearm, so maybe I'll remember.

Oh now that's a tattoo I may need to think about getting!

Power tools do not save time with tiny bolts like this. I've done this too and had to replace an timing chain cover that was also an oil pump. Thank god it was a cheap 90s Nissan motor. If you can strip things out with small hand tools, a power tool will easily destroy what you are working on. You handled this much better than I did emotionally.

You are so right man. Patience truly goes a long way with these types of things

Dude! Use a common 1/4x20 bolt next time. And just use nuts to smash those rivnuts, save money on that amazon tool j/s. Love the truck tho!
@BenStinnett Жыл бұрын
Definitely worth thinking about! This truck is all metric so I’m just trying to minimize future tools I’ll need to carry. I haven’t seen the nut trick before, will have to check that out! Thank you 🙏

By the vocabulary you used it almost sounds like you've worked in a machine shop or similar environment, that and your proper Mitutoyo calipers. Maybe I'm overthinking it lol.
@BenStinnett Жыл бұрын
Haha you nailed it. I know just enough to be dangerous in a machine shop 😂

@Ben Stinnett Just got back to N. Minnesota after a winter of boondocking in Arizona deserts. It's nice to get back to pine trees and lakes! 🌲🌲🌲
