Did mine on the weekend. Being a crappy job is definitely no understatement! I upgraded to their 250A version, which is larger than the standard version, so getting it in through the window was not easy. At least that tricky 5th bolt up top is not getting used on the 250A model.

I'm thinking that u haven't had to replace the starter motor just yet. Well done to get it done in 5 hours, and in that heat. As u said not much room and a silly spot for an alternator in a 4wd, even if more then half never see dirt roads. Great video as always.

Wow.... Modern vehicles!! Why the hell does Toyota put the alternator so low?? I've heard others talk of this & I just don't get it ?? Well worth both the time & cost I reckon but what a bugger of a job!! My alternators are high mount so I'm not worried about water etc & yes I have a second one ..... for Justin! I have high demand on idle sometimes so instead of just buying a larger alternator I decided to mount a 2nd one just in case one fails in the middle of nowhere (even though both are new) Get after it Terry, feel free to post any trip prep videos, I'm sure they will be interesting! 👍

Toyota generally gets stuff right but putting the alternator on the bottom and the starter motor inside the engine valley weren't the smartest move I was so pleased with my 2.8 Troopy having the alternator on top and the starter outside a simple R&R

Hi Terry, Adore your video! Can you do mine also please ?!? 😂 Guys, I don’t agree to that ! Crappy design.. Oh.. why.. you please come up with a better position on a V8 engine. Yeh… I have in my daily driver a boxer engine and guess what the alternator sits on the highest point in the middle of the engine facing you when you open the hood. Perfect.. but that’s a 4 cyl boxer… startermotor somewhere on the side of the engine. So put that on a V8 and you need allot of more space.. anybody out there who runs a Merc C63 AMG with a V8 ?.
