In this video we undo a few days of muddy bog holes worth of damage to our 200 series Landcruiser charging system, with a new alternator. Not as bad as we thought to change out, but still a pain.

Spot on John alternator now next the starter motor not an easy job, mud & water in old Hilux or Landie ok not LC 200 full of electronics.

Mines a 2013 so probably cos of age irs harder. Once studs out it misses the plastic low pressure air duct? as mine caught there. Getting a mechanic to help now. lol

Great video mate, just watched it as I will need to do my own alternator now from muddy bogholes. Did you do much mud driving beforehand, or was it just the one boghole that killed it? Personally I have done heaps but its only taken one deep one to kill it.
@DucruznOZ8 ай бұрын
Cheers mate, to be honest it was going backwards in the boghole that did it... driving forwards is fine... trying to get a bigger run up and obviously all the water/mud has pushed into the alternator from behind 🤦♂️🤦♂️

Absolutely gutted for you brother, we spent alot of money on our trucks and you'd think car manufacturers would have solved the problems nearly 90 -100 years in the game.

Yeah it is a pain, but what are you gonna do, ha ha.... take it easy 🍻
@ahfreebird2 жыл бұрын
Wish it were that easy on the 5.7 The power steering pump is right on top of the alternator, literally blocking 2 of the bolts holding it in.

Is old the alternator rebuildable?
@DucruznOZ3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the brushes get stuck (they are spring loaded) so if you can free them up it should be good to go. I did it with this one and now it is my spare ;)

how did you get and EGT on your ultra gauge
@DucruznOZ2 жыл бұрын
it is in one of the input selections you can choose when setting the main screen. When you customize the main screen to have whatever inputs just find EGT or Bank 1 exhaust :)
