When I lived in Africa I had the opportunity to drive a lot of different Land Cruisers, and none of them did let me down. Of course I got stuck, and they broke down, mainly due to bad driving and lack of maintenance ... but they always came back. None of them were my own (except for one), but I had access to them through my organisation. The one I owned was a Land Cruiser Prado 92 years model that I bought used from Japan to be shipped to Tanzania. I really miss that one. And since I moved back to Europe I have been dreaming of a Land Crusier (to drive here in Sweden) ... I hope the dream soon will come true.

@@realtoverland Knowing the legacy (and previously owning an FJ40), the ethos of Land Cruiser is what I am pondering buying: Durable as a rock, field serviceable, simple, ultimate utility/function. A hybrid 4cyl with a heavy battery that must be replaced, independent front/multilink rear instead of solid axles, stuffed full of commodity parts bin components...no, that package is not worth $50k to me personally.

@@bobk3432 - The new LC has a solid axle if I read correctly? The old LC's started at $80K for a stripped-down model. If they can make the vehicle relatively affordable - I'm in. I'm not skeered of "4 bangers" like I used to be 🙂

I’m sorry but even a white roof that sits slightly below the top of the door, TOYOTA letters, circular headlights with long thin ones to the side as turn signals, side mirrors and black trim on the bottom of the doors, the corner bits that stick out slightly, silver curving up from the rear bumper? EVEN the skid plate and front bumper are similar! This thing has FJ all over it. And I haven’t even watched the video yet!!!

Deceptive marketing at its worst. Why force USDM customers believe this slightly lower-tier Prado/250 is the real LC? Sure, maybe the 250 has better CP but for those in the NA who want the better LC, the J300 (esp. GR-S) is the one to die for -- NOT the grossly souped-up LX600 without the extended offroad chassis/drivetrain enhancement equipment group......
