In the ongoing effort to bleed the cooling system we *checks notes* strip down half the engine? There is some logic behind it, I promise.

Was just typing a comment to say you put on too much sealant when you went back in and fixed it. Easy mistake to make and glad you noticed it while you still have access.

The worst part is you can never be 100% sure you haven’t put too much sealant in 😖 although I did find you can just about see down the little oil outlet holes with a mirror and a torch to check they’re not blocked before putting the seals back in. Good luck with your engine rebuild!

Man, the number of projects I have had like this... I feel for you. Just so you know, AvE did a video on 6 point vs. 12 point sockets and showed that they both can handle a boatload of torque. The advantage, like you said, with the 12 point, you can get better angles.

I had same colour mr2 mine was turbo one and it got stolen years ago. the best colour mr2 ever now I've got a red rev 2 gts turbo in red

That sucks yours got stolen, glad you’ve got another though. Unfortunately we never officially got the turbos in the uk, no idea why
