Toyota Pro Shop Raptor Light Install - The RIGHT Way to Install Raptor Lights on Your 3rd Gen Tacoma

In this video, I'm installing the ToyotaProShop raptor lights on my 3rd gen Tacoma. I believe this is the RIGHT way to install raptor lights on your 3rd gen Tacoma because a lot of other install videos neglect to specify how to use the add-a-fuse properly.
These Tacoma raptor lights from Toyota Proshop are a truly solid product and one of the easiest and best Tacoma mods to install. The install should only take around 30mins or so.
Raptor lights are definitely one of the easiest Tacoma mods to add to your new Toyota Tacoma.

That add a fuse you installed showed the fuse at 7.5 and the lower fuse was at 10. You accessed a 10 amp fuse so did the add a fuse have the correct fuses installed? BTW your video was very informative i desperately need info on the add a fuse and you gave that to me. Now it’s gonna be a piece of cake.

Yes the add a fuse needs the same fuse for the spot you're replacing, as well as another fuse that it lower than the original. Thanks for watching!

I’m stupid!! You know the wires you pulled from the battery so you could route your new wire through it at 9:23? Well I did the same. I forgot to plug it back in and I turned on the truck. Of course I’ve fixed it since, but I have a check engine light now. Suggestions?

Is this fuse box the same concept on 2nd gen Tacoma?

I'm not 100% sure but I'd bet they're relatively similar. I'd suggest searching on TacomaWorld to figure out which fuse would be best to use. Typically there's a thread where someone explains what each fuse goes to. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

You need to crimp & apply heat if they're heat shrink

Thanks for watching! Lighter was for the heat shrink connector. You heat it and it melts some solder on the inside to help secure the wires together. As for the ground connector, you can pick up a set of connectors like that pretty much anywhere (Autozone, Walmart, Lowes, etc.)

How do you know what amp fuse to use for the lights? I have 15amp fuses. I have watched video's where they have 5amps, 10amps and 15 amps for the lights

So if you're using an add a fuse, the extra fuse you use will need to be greater than the one it's replacing. Search "how to use add a fuse" on KZbin and there are a couple of good explanations.

I actually had the fuse wrong in the video if I remember correctly. I have it turn on when the headlights turn on. That said, I just looked on TacomaWorld to see which fuse others had used.

Soon as I saw the volt meter pop out I was like nope lol Ill just take it to the shop - I suck at DIY stuff. I wish there was a way to hook them up with the DRLs. I want them to blink when I unlock/lock truck along with the led headlights, and also during the day to be on when my DRLs are on. So far every video doesn't seem to know how to do it tho

Yeah unfortunately getting it to work with the DRL is pretty difficult. Requires tapping into a headlight wire and putting in a fuse and diode into the headlight connector.. more than I know how to do lol I remember seeing a Tacomaworld thread on it a while back

To my knowledge there is a DRL fuse you use instead. At least on a 2020 TRD Sport

Yes you’d just need to do some custom wiring to the switch and use a different fuse location

They’re pretty well-known as Raptor lights. If you want to be overly specific you can call them “Raptor style” lights for the Tacoma
