I have four car ramps which I feel safer instead of being under a car on jack stands. I have used all four ramps many times Changing transfer oil, transmission oil and rear differential. I only use a jack stand as a backup to a pump car jack when removing a tire
@temosgarage2 жыл бұрын
Good for you for exercising a high degree of caution with the ramps. These jack stands are just as safe as the ramps.

I have a question? By looking at your video while you said you have to cut off some length of hex bite but there is another hex plug like above the plug that you have unscrewed. My question is could that be the filler plug. Thanks in advance for answering.
@alanf5351 Жыл бұрын
The fill plug for replacement fill will never be above the differential. However with first fill by the manufacturer, they use the upper one for ease but ensure they do not overfill it. The proper level of fluid is to the bottom of the fill hole used in this video(fill hole will be in line with lower part of differential or just below bottom of differential as differential should not be submerged in oil or it will leak out seals)

What is Power transfer unit ?? Is it the same as transmission oil ? How often should i change each kind of oils...engine oil...transmission oil...power transfer unit oil...differential oil....
@temosgarage Жыл бұрын
Power transfer unit is similar to a transfer case. In this case, sends power to the rear wheels. It is not the same as trans oil, its special gear oil. I change it every 30k miles. Follow what your manual says to do though.

What kind of pump did you use to fill the fluids? Please send the link ,thanks
@temosgarage3 жыл бұрын
I don’t have the specific link since I bought it in store, but it’s a HDX 1/2 gallon sprayer. I got the 1/2 gallon sprayer since drivetrain requires little oil. I use bigger sprayers for transmission flushes where it requires gallons at a time.
