@@beinjar5634 Lexus is on par with Mercedes and BMW, Lexus's lowest range executive sedan competes with E-class and they have an S-class competitor. Plus Lexus reliability, dependability and quality is better at a more affordable price

Lexus does not compete with Mercedes. More like Acura, Infiniti, Mazda. Lexus is "entry level luxury" I drive a 2014 C300 sport 4matic I have a friend who drives a Lexus 2014 IS 300 and I drove her Lexus , the driving dynamics is nite & day vs Merc, Audi , BMW

I used to drive a Lexus LS400; then bought a Toyota C-HR, (it was so good that I kept it for three and a half years!). Now, I'm back in a Lexus again; a 2006 GS300 this time and...what a car!! I'll upgrade later this year to a Lexus LS430; unless I can find a Toyota Century V12! Nothing else comes close

@@bardz0sz I've had a lot of cars that I owned for a lot less than 3 years. My Lexus LS430 is my longest owned and daily driven vehicle for about 5 years now although I just bought a Lexus LS460L as my new daily. I'm probably keeping the 430 though. I have two other cars that I have owned for around 10 and 20 years but neither are dailies anymore.

I think ditching V8 is a bad move. The century was supposed to stand out. It had the only V12 when other Toyotas topped out with V8 (or 10 in LFA). But now, Toyota is largely moving to V6 as evidenced by the new LC300. So the Century retaining V8 would have made it stand out again, like the V12 did before.

The Crown never went away. It has always been on sale in Japan. More recent models were basically the same as equivalent Lexus models, but with a different body.

Yeah and then way way WAY behind. It had a cassette player in like 2009! 😂 Jokes aside this was actually intentional since Toyota knew that the vast majority of its buyers would be very old and thus prefer older tech that they were more used to… God I love the way Toyota thinks. ❤

Toyota never stopped the crown, and never stopped the century. Both have always continued production. I had a 2009 crown and have a 2014 crown

...way back, a buddy bought a four year old Tojo Cressida, a 1978 model, and paid a good buck for it. The interior was really plush, all the european marques of that era had cold boxy plastic interiors. Had 4-wheel independent suspension. It was a nice car.

Century is absolutely beautiful that being said I drive 1996 80 series Land Cruiser with factory lockers and I love it I just wish they would offer a 70 series Land Cruiser for the US market I would buy one in a heartbeat

That's pretty cool that Japan is got their own Rolls-Royce I kind of thought that they did. Japan always a good leader and vehicle quality and manufacturing to the end-user the customer. I wish they bring back the 10-year 100000 mile warranty on some of their more expensive brands. Is peace of mind in the back of a person's mind. When your engineer something so marvelous why not put such a long warranty on it

the Toyota Century was never sold in the US as we already had a luxury car called Century a Buick from 1973 to 2005 granted the Buick Century was a midsize car not a full sized one and ran on a V6 engine not a V12 like the Toyota Century which is a similar length to the extended wheelbase version of the Chevrolet Suburban SUV several family members of mine have had smaller Buicks over the years including a red Buick Skyhawk and a used 1984 dark royal blue pearl Skylark it was my maternal grandmother who had the Skylark there's only 3 instances in her life where she didn't own a GM Vehicle the first being a 1975 Powder Blue Ford Granada and the other 2 being Toyota Camry's she also drove me to school from 3-5 grade and 7th -9th grade either using the Chevys that were loaned to her for the Job or her 1990 Maroon Red Pearl Toyota Camry

What do you mean "bring back"? The Century is currently under production and has been continuously for a number of years. Also, it was not thee first chauffeur car in Japan, that would be I believe, the Mitsubishi Debonair of 1960 or the Nissan President of 1965. Not the Century.

I have driven the 2nd generation V12 version in Japan. It is an awesome car. It was it's own thing. The third generation was the first to be based on another car (LS600h) and while being very powerful hybrid system, the V8 is not as smooth as the V12. Now to come out with a relatively affordable SUV based on existing platforms, I don't think this new Century SUV will offer much more than a Lexus SUV. I am sure it will be a great car, but I see it more as using the name plate to create something relatively easy based on existing technology. Way different than builing a V12 specifically for just one car, and the car itself was also designed from ground up. The old V12 I drove was so smooth it reminded me of driving a Tesla Model S, not in terms of speed or anything, but in terms of driving a big silent car.

11+ years ago I bought a brandnew no frills Scion made in Japan 🇯🇵 only needed 1 new battery oil changes + tires absolutely the best car I ever owned and Scion sure was on the bottom of their scale of comfort prestige etc and now they don’t even make ‘em anymore so just imagine the craftsmanship and build quality on their flagship . would I buy a Century ? absolutely YES …if 🇯🇵 just could decide to bring this flagship stateside , they probably would be surprised by how many they could / + would sell I would buy it just for the build quality and oh those seats

Your best choice is to get a UCF10 Lexus LS400 or UCF11 Toyota Celsior. I got both, affordable as hell, and hella cheaper and easier to maintain and drive.

You should note that from the beginning of Rolls manufacture it was made exclusively for the rich, and before someone starts yapping here look at the price difference in terms of dollars for both the Century and Rolls, totally a huge margin.
