Thank you so much for this. I couldn't believe I actually found a video of someone working on this van for this very specific problem I'm having on my passenger window. You are a lifesaver and thanks for taking it step by step and making it easy to digest. Excellent video 🙏🙏🙏

Patrick, we just watched the video for the repair of passenger door window motor. We watched until you discovered the lock was down on the driver’s side. Wow! We went out to our 2003 van and low and behold our, lock was down. Down for about to 2 -3 year’s of hot agony here in Florida. I the wife suffered every time we left the car in park so my true could do his errand. Thank you for inadvertently helping us. We are so both so happy now!!!!!

Btw..thx for filming the WHOLE process! Cant tell u how many repairs I’ve done like this using videos but the video doesn’t show all the craziness trying to figure out the actual install. They just show them doing it perfectly with no problems.

I think showing real problems you have along the way are more real and more beneficial to all. Plus it makes everyone realize the ones making the video are just human too.

This video so far is the best and easy way to replace a broken power window,my problem was the drivers master switch was faulty,it moves the drivers side window up but it does not operate the passenger side window,the drivers master switch I tested was given a continuous power to the drivers side window and so what I did was replace the master switch and the passenger side window assembly like what the gentleman did,thank you.

When i got back to my car today, my wife informed me 1) that she had just hit a parked car in the parking lot, and 2) that the passenger window had quit working. I came home and was finding parts online and checking repair videos. Watched yours. Three in the morning, bolted out to my car, and now, magically, the window works. Thank you so much. I always enjoy your videos. I REALLY enjoyed this one A LOT!

Thanks for the detailed video you put together. It is very nice of you to continue replacing the working assembly for the purpose of illustration. My issue is on the driver side. The window still rolls up and down if I don't let it hits the bottom. If it hits the bottom, it can not be roll up even if I pull the switch up and hold it. I have to let go of the switch for a few minutes, then the motor will start turning again. When the motor failed to turn while the switch is pulled, the voltage across the connector is -12V (and of course, it is +12V when the switch is pressed). So I can rule out that the switch assembly seems ok. At this point I guess replacing the regulator assembly like what you did is probably the way to go forward. Thanks again Patrick.

I was just wondering if it was necessary to unscrew the bars that connected to the window because that's what I had to do to get it loose. I've worked on the driver side and did what you said and it slipped right on out but the passenger side was being ornery😨😨 and I'm going to have to use some oil to get the old motor to close because it's so old is stuck in place and I can't get it out of the door LOL

What would you have down if you couldn’t get it to move it down to access the bolts? My window will only move down a little a couple inches and I can’t access it

Could you just replace the motor? On my 98 Sienna, the driver's door window will go up and down, but very slowly. Or is it impossible to access the motor by itself?

Correction the drivers side window master switch was given continuous power to the passenger side window.

Best how-to video I've found especially for putting the regulator back in. I ordered one (2002) from advanced auto parts for $150.00 (before I saw your video). Here are my questions... 1. Should I check the new regulator before putting it in (I've removed the old on already)? 2. Do I need to manually move the window to the top before putting the new regulator in? 3. How do I align all the holes to support the new regulator? Thx

When I connected the new regulator with the electrical the motor didn't work. What am I missing?

In the video at 10:30 I plugged it in without installing it to test it. At that point it did not work. Turns out I had the child window lock on see 11:00 on the video. If that is not your issue, maybe a cable has been cut somewhere? I would start checking wires to see if power is flowing through them

Thank you so much Patrick! This is awesome. Did you know that this is the only video of its kind!! Very helpful. Funny how you stumbled across the child safety lock :) but it was all worth it, as you went through with replacing the motor assembly. Great job and very patiently done. Thanks much!

Thanks very much for this video and the video about the door handle replacement. Not without problems similar to the ones you pointed out, but I was able to replace both front door handles and the passenger window electric motor to my Sienna 1999.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I had the same issue and was fuming - it was the child safety lock that was preventing it from going up/down as per 11:40 your video. I learned a couple of things - dont be messing with the door switches while driving if you are focusing on the road! Also that child safety locks DO exist :) Problem solved

Hi - Do you have a video on replacing inside door handle on 2000 Sienna?
@socalsand865 жыл бұрын
Without watching this video first. I’ll bet your switch is the only issue. If drivers side doesn’t work then neither will the passenger side. My tundra did the same thing and I got a switch from pick a part for 7 bucks. One switch can work while the other goes dead.

FYI, people should generally pry up that window control switch bezel from the FRONT. That little plastic tab on the end toward the rear is subject to breaking....Ask me how I know 😒 And if you break that housing bezel it's a part that Toyota is very proud of. They must be, because they want $45 to replace it. If anybody knows of a source for an after-market one of those for much less, PLEASE tell me. Because $45 is ridiculous for that part. so I'm just going around with a loose bezel at present.

Good One, very helpful. i am having same trouble with driver side. Question: can't we just change the motor only?? because looks like that's the main cause.
@Whiteboardcoder6 жыл бұрын
Probably. I imagine the steel would typically be just fine. But its probably the same price to buy the motor as to buy the entire assembly. (But I have not tried to price that out myself)

I once thought my dashboard lights were dying on my 1998 Sienna. I was getting so upset because I didn't know whether it was a power issue or my dashboard lights were dying. Anyway, turns out the dashboard light control was dialled all the way down. -_-
