What an AMAZING MESSAGE this part of the movie reveals for us through Marty! Every time he resists showing cowardice at every conflict he runs into, acts without thinking letting his pride and ego rule him, which does not just regularly get him in trouble, but extends to as far as risking his own life in front of Biff on every film and his own future as seen in the second film. Ultimately, he "learns from his past" (literally, like we all do), with the difference that in this case, he has the chance to learn from his actual past and future, experiencing the consequences of his acts, influenced by his untrained young ego, in the lapse of a week. This is shown in his final decision to not race the Pickup Truck in this scene. The difference is we do not have a time machine, so... LEARN FROM YOUR PAST FAST, and ACT ON IT FOR THE BETTER IN THE PRESENT :D !

About the Rolls Royce car crash.... it is funny, interesting and cool all at once how significant that small scene actually is. On the surface, you don't really think about it, but the Rolls Royce car crash is sort of like the main event which would have a significant impact on Marty's life and his future. It's his defining moment. I would argue that it is a moment as significant to Marty as the moment when thee time machine is revealed to him. If Doc Brown had warned Marty about the impending car crash when he came back to 1985 the first time around from the future, none of the problems in the two sequel movies would ever have had to happen. * The reason they ended up in the old west was because of events in 1955. * The reason they were in 1955 was because they needed to stop 1985A from being created. * The reason 1985A was created as an alternate timeline was because older Biff from 2015 stole the time machine and created 1985A. * The reason older Biff could steal the timemachine was because he overheard Marty and Doc talking about it while in 2015. * The reason Marty was in 2015 and even able to carelessly talk to Doc about the time machine was because Doc brought him there to save his son from making a stupid mistake. And the root of it all: * The reason Marty's son made a mistake from the get go was because he fell into a bad crowd after having been somewhat neglected by a miserable 47 year old Marty who became disillusioned and distant after the Rolls Royce car crash. This means that the single most important event in these stories specifically pertaining to Marty as a character is the car crash and it is both poetic and perfect that the Rolls Royce incident is the last obstacle and event we see Marty overcome/circumvent; it is the last piece of the puzzle being fixed, but from sort of a backwards sequence where we have already seen the consequences of the accident that doesn't have to happen. It shows that the crash was the actual focal point for so much trouble in Marty's life, both in the linear timeline as in the extradimensional time travelling journeys he went on. So in a way, Doc could have saved them a lot of trouble just by telling Marty about the accident. BUT... having said that... it hits harder the way they did it, because having Marty not knowing about the accident and STILL manage to grow as a person and overcome his personal insecurities, thus averting the accident on his own... now that is just such an incredibly powerful message. Not surprisingly, I never thought about all of this as a kid. But this just comes to you as you grow up and realize the amazing depths these movies go to. ^^
@4by_yotaguy373 Жыл бұрын
You're correct about the importance of the Rolls-Royce crash scene. Although I haven't seen the movies recently, I've watched them many times in the past, and never realized that. Thanks 👍

Allot of debate about if the toyota and the rolls royce would have survived the crash so i did some digging. The exact model here is a Silver Cloud I which is entire chassis and frame is made out of a box frame steel. And this SR5 has a 50 mph acceleration rate which isn't fast but still fast during this time and on an open road in the suburbs. Both are built like a tank its obvious...but only one is moving slow and one is worth $20,000 more than the other if i got my math right. Someone was going to come out injured and its most likely the driver of the rolls royce and marty. The inertia and whiplash from the could have possibly made his hand slip off the wheel and hit the dash board hard enough to break his hand. There 27 tiny bones in your hand alone, and it says his hand wasn't the same since then. Its that or the person in the rolls royce wasn't very friendly considering some "punk" kid hit his car. And broke his hand out of rage or Insulted Marty and he retaliated, thus making the man defend himself. two possibilities but make the most sense. Considering it was Marty who couldn't let go of someone calling him a coward that ruined his life and career in the alternate future.

Did you know the truck that appears in the first movie and the one in the second and third movies are 2 different trucks? There were 4 years between the release of the first and second movies..... By the time they went into production on Part 2, the original truck had been stolen and was being used to smuggle drugs between the US and Mexico. So they got another truck and dressed it up to look like the original truck. If you notice the truck in the first film has "TOYOTA" written across the back, but the truck from Parts 2 and 3 does not. Also, the yellow KC covers (the covers over the spot lights on the headache rack and grille) are on the first truck, then they're not there at the end of the first movie (same truck, KC covers removed). The same goes for the beginning of Part 2. However, when Marty returns at the end of Part 3, the KC covers are back. It seems Biff, who was their auto detailer, put the KC covers on the morning of Sunday Oct 27th for some reason. Maybe he remembered that he didn't put them on the previous day (Saturday) and made it a point to put them on).
@4by_yotaguy373 Жыл бұрын
This was actually 3 diff trucks used in these films. The 2nd movie used a 1986. If you look closely you'll see the IFS front. There's also other discrepancies between the 3 trucks, like the vent windows, double hoop roll bar, bedliner, head rest upholstery, and locking front hubs. To name a few 👍
@4by_yotaguy373 Жыл бұрын
Also, the original truck from the first movie was auctioned off for publicity after the initial release of the film. I read originally they weren't planning on making any sequels. Then the owner who won the truck wrecked and totaled it. I think the stories you're referring to was either the second or third movie truck.

it's a shame in the original timeline where marty gets in the accident... he gets sued from a person who went into oncoming traffic and that person won... probably cuz he is rich and rich people are powerful in courts....

What engine is in the Toyota to do a burnout?
@williamspencer19353 жыл бұрын
It’s just for effect. No way that 22re could’ve spun tires. Also those 80s Toyota’s all had open diffs, so they modified it to do a burnout for sure
