Great job and video although I might be a little biased because that’s my truck😊

This was not an easy install. Great tips on cutting the bead liner away from bed bolt washer. Getting the bolts started on those backing plates was not fun. Great looking and sturdy product.

Bro tried installing these. The backer plates are a bitch to install 😂

Your list of instructions show a 7/16 hex bit, but in your video you are using a 7/32.

just a thought maybe use a torque wrench and spec put exactly how many ft lbs needed to secure the mounting bolts ?

I would like bed stiffeners, but I have a bed extender wish someone made one for the extender.

This is something that I don’t agree I have to do on my old 2019 Tacoma. Just doesn’t make sense to me.

It’s only needed if your putting a lot of weight in the bed (rack, Tent, drawers, etc) and your off-roading a lot.

Curious of the purpose of this? Of course it stiffens the bed rather than have it rattle and flex, but why would you want that rather than the flex that it is allowed to do from the factory? What is the advantage of stiffening the bed I guess is what I’m asking.
@westcottdesigns3 ай бұрын
So when someone puts a tent or a rack on the bed the rack tends to be more narrow at the top and flair out to the bed side. When extra weight is added to the rack it pushes force outward on the bed sides. Because the tailgate is not solid it causes the rear corners to push outward over time till the bed no longer latches and cracks in the lower corners.

@@westcottdesigns interesting thank you I did not know this! Great info to learn

Is there a bed stiffener that just utilize the bolts instead of having to drill into the bed which creates more potential of leakage? I think R4T just rolled out one using the bolts of the bed. I suppose there are tradeoffs where yours might be more secure but I don’t like the idea of drilling or putting more holes into the bed if you can avoid it
@westcottdesigns3 ай бұрын
@@D_F_L_ well if you crawl up under the truck you can see that it’s open in the place you are drilling the holes. So you don’t need to worry about leakage. As for not drilling holes if you used just the wholes that are provided in the bed it would make the bed hold a lot of load and 2 mounting points which over time would or could cause the plastic bed to crack depending on the amount of weight or force that was pushed on it. So with the added wholes it allows it to spread out the load. But if someone was just wanting the bed stiffener for looks the less attachment points would be fine. We could call them mall stiffeners😉.

@@westcottdesigns hah! Mall stiffeners. I just don’t like drilling holes unless it’s professionally done to seal them. I just don’t trust myself to do it right!
