KO2’s are a heavy tire. Go down to the 16” TRD Pro wheel and add Falken AT3Ws and you’ll save 10 lbs off each wheel/tire combo.

Exactly. I bumped up. To falkens 265/75r16s over the stock tire but kept the factory OR wheel. And it was so negligible the feeling of acceleration I knew I got new tires but that’s it. And the best part is they don’t look very good in pictures, but standing near the truck they look so good.

I just put 265/75R16 Mickey Thompson’s Baja Boss on my 2022 SR, completely stock. No rubbing at all, they look great. MPG dropped from around 19-20 to 15 but it’s worth it IMO.

They are factory running boards I have a part number on one video but it’s from 2012 but they fit order off Toyota website online parts department they will be cheaper but they are a OEM part !

Stoked I just found some brand new C load Nitto Ridgegrappler 285/70/R17’s for $850 bucks! These will be going on my 2019 Tacoma TRD Pro now the question is from here what will I need to do to the truck to prevent rubbing. I really like the Fuel Covert D694 in matte black 17X9 with -12 offset. Thoughts? What’s it gonna take to run this set up? I hate to lose my stock TRD suspension?

Wescott lift kit this dealership actually doesn’t really good job of installing them just that and a little bit of trimming and I think you should be good. You don’t have to worry about the upper control arms like the 22 and 23 Tacoma‘s have so you should be good with that lift kit. 2 things to keep in mind…. 2016+ Tacos need better gears and you should consider a pedal commander. It won’t be fast but you’ll find with those two upgrades you’ll be super happy

Don't feel to bad, we have all lost money buying wheels and tires that we later regretted. I have had 5 Tundra's and 3 Tacoma's, plus many other trucks and cars that I have installed mods. I currently have a 2022 Tacoma TRD PRO and gonna leave it pretty much stock. I have done minor mods, like a bed mat, soft tonneau cover, interior LED lights, window tint, hood struts, etc...but there is really not a lot to do on a TRD PRO. The problem is that the after market lift kits as well as the tires will not only effect your MPG's, but your ride quality. Most of the time that I changed my wheels and tires, I have regretted it. Just buy a vehicle from the factory with OEM tires and wheels that you can live with (like a TRD PRO), and leave them alone. There are plenty of other mods you can do. Also wanted to mention that I purchased a 2021 Toyota 4Runner (Venture package). Loved that thing and it rode really nice. However, I went back to a truck, because I needed a bed to haul things. The 4Runner also gets a little worse fuel mileage. But yeah, if you don't mine that, they are really nice. Back seat is a lot bigger than the Tacoma. One more thing - I have a TRD exhaust on my TRD PRO Tacoma and I swear I cant' really tell the difference. I wouldn't waste the money....just some friendly advice - God Bless bro!

I had constant issues with alignment on my tacoma off the lot. It always looked fine on the rack but always pulled to the right. Got new wheels & tires with -12 offset and a new alignment, the issue was still there. The way I fixed it was going with aftermarket UCA to get some decent castor. Now I'm running 4 deg castor up front and the truck tracks straight as an arrow - highly recommend doing this.

KO2's are for maximum offroad performance. You would have been better off with Falken Wildpeaks which are a good compromise between offroad and highway. I have 265 70 17 Wildpeaks SL on a Sport and they work great.

For when you need that extra gitty up use the ECT power button. The extra weight of the wheel/tire combo gonna slug it down. The looks is worth the sluggishness. If it really bothers you there’s the regear option but then your warranty is then out the window. I don’t think exhaust and cold air is gonna do anything, because the tranny and gear ratio on those trucks is tuned for all season P rated tires and fuel economy, not all terrain oversized LT tires and a lifted suspension

The bfgs are 49lbs, the oem tires are 37lbs. Toyo has a/t at 40-41lbs, so does yokohama. I like bfgs they are just heavy for the tacoma.

I don’t care what these people tell you, you are at the end of your cam adjustment. Sure you can get the specs close… but with UCA you can make it perfect. You can’t do one without the other. Plus the added rigidity improves handling a lot, why do you think they added UCA on the new pro if there not needed 🤔

Get the pedal commander bro. Makes a huge difference. I got it on my 2022 tacoma trd pro and i felt the acceleration difference instantly. The mods dont stop bro you’ll never be happy with it wothout wanting to add something lol. I have a trd pro and even tho i dont have to do anything to my suspension and wheels besides maybe more aggressive tires im still constantly adding other mods lol. If you do get the trd exhaust get the trd air filter and air flow accelerator. Makes the exhaust sound deeper and more rumble with the more air flow.

I am using the same General ATX's in 26575R16's on a stock 2023 SR5 Tacoma with no issues at all. They did give me a plus 1.2" of ground clearance over the stock 24575R16's. No difference in the speedometer, or acceleration, just alot better traction.

I can only imagine how much power I’m a loss when I get my ko2 285s on my Tacoma but it will look good. I installed a cold air intake this weekend noticed a little better gas mileage and better pedal response with the stock tires , on a side note truck is very load with the intake when you step on it I don’t mind it.

Just a tune and better air filter, these trucks are actually pretty fast and vids on here of hitting 0-60 in under 6 seconds and will get 24mpg highway. Its all you Bro's who put bigger heavy tires on them that makes them slow and poor mpg's....just for the vanity. Then whine about it!

Those tire are not that much heavier. I run 265 70 17 k02s (10 ply E rated) and lost about 2 mpg on my 2021 sport 4x4. You're tripping on under 25lbs of added weight Instesd of taking your truck to the dealer for an alignment check, find a real alignment shop that understands lifted trucks. Don't waste your money on that muffler and pipe. All its going to do is make noise.

Upper control arms with a 2" lift will not be "life changing". What would be life changing is getting a proper alignment from a shop that actually knows their way around a lifted Tacoma. My 2021 is lifted 2" with an Eibach stage 1 kit . I took my truck to A&M tire in clackamas (Kenny knows the area) for an alignment after talking to other Toyota owners. New UCAs are only needed above 2.5" or even 3". If they were needed Toyota would have been quick to sell them.

Weather or not this is the problem I don't know but tire weight is something to look at when getting tires. If you aren't going to be worried about hauling the weight difference in a passenger tire to an lt is sometimes a pretty good bit. That's what I'm looking for on my frontier I can go up an inch from now in a passenger tire and can drop up to 20lbs each.

About that alignment it's not in your head that's what I tried to tell myself too on my frontier it's the alignment make those bastards do it until they get it tracking straight or get your money back. Oh and I know this may sound stupid but with the steering and acceleration keep an eye on the air in the tires and play with it until you find what rides good I've got 265 65 r17 kenda klever rt's on my frontier and I've been from 30lbs all the way to 40lbs . I've been through all you are going through about not wanting to be a pest and thinking you might be being picky or maybe it's the road, hell no make those bastards do their fuckin job or get your money back and go somewhere else because I'm telling you now your tire probably the one on the right side is going to get eaten up quicker.
