I think the new Tacoma will be fine. Maybe a few bugs like most new generation vehicles. I don't think it's going to follow the Tundra. Two totally different vehicles.

I agree.

Rob, I wouldn't touch the new Gen 4 Tacomas until at least model year 2026 or 2027. Toyota has perfected incremental change and improvements. It's in their DNA and vehicles. They will get the Tundra and Tacoma right. But it's going to take a few years to identify and resolve the latest problems that have been documented to date, and those yet to be uncovered. That's what I did with my 3rd Gen, purchasing my 2019 TRD PRO. Haven't looked back since. No problems, even with a few minor recalls. Love the channel. Keep up the great work. And take care.

The gear searching is a programming issue. That was the minor problem with those crappy transmissions. It took law suits to make Toyota do something about the hard shifts and they could only lessen the frequency of it happening. The rest of the electrical parts associated with that transmission are time bombs that will affect most people some day in a expensive way. Mine worked most of the time until around 15k miles and several problems started happening with it.

Tundra issues have absolutely nothing to do with the Tacoma. Tacoma will probably have a general recall or two as is the case with most new gen vehicles.

This will not help Toyota's "bullet proof" reliability reputation.

Definitely not😬

Bet that tundra resale value gonna take a big hit. With all the plastic on those engines I wouldn’t be enthused about it all being taken apart and reassembled. Plastic rarely seals correctly twice.

@@Kidbako1 yes? They’re shipping crate engines built in Japan to tundra owners. This news was all over

@@ravensfootball52 so also all the accessories, fuse box, wiring harness, alternator, sensors that all have to be unplugged and rewired. So you’re saying that yes, they are replacing everything in the whole engine compartment.

They’re just going to hoist the old engine out and put the new crate engine in. Massive Lee well done on Toyotas part and at great expense

Did your new truck break down also, that is why it is not there, what broke this time?

Not sure what you’re talking about? My truck has never broken down? Has yours?

I just test drive a 24 Sr5. Definitely faster than the 3rd gen but didn't like the sound of the engine. Does not sound like a truck. My 3rd gen gas more of a growl to it. The 4th gen sounds like a kids toy.
@RobMotive2 ай бұрын
Personally, they both have very little sound.

Thank you. most critics of my Tacoma have no skin in game. Would never go back to Gen 3.

I'd buy either one. Oh wait, I got a 23 Tacoma but the 24 Tacoma in black looks great. Can't wait to see if any minor changes will be made to the 25 model year, if any.

@@appleztooranges I didn’t say anything about Nissan but if they keep making that truck, it’ll probably be 4turbo at some point. Big engines are disappearing and so are some trucks ie Nissan Titan.
