I had the exact same problem with my 2009 Odyssey. My mechanic did his diagnosis and at first thought it was a bad socket, but replacing it didn't help. He eventually thought there was an issue with the fuse box multiplexer that would have to be programmed by the dealership. I wasn"t convinced and showed him your video and asked him to checkout the grounding point. A couple of the wires broke when removing the screw, but he soldered the broken wires and heat wrapped them and used some dielectric grease on the contacts and PRESTO, my front right turn signal is working again. Thanks again for the great video!

Your video saved me time troubleshooting the problem. In my case, I just sprayes the PB Blaster and WD-40 on that wire connector attached to the chassis, and, to my surprise , the right turn signal started to flash once again. It's still working as it should for about a few months now. Thank you for sharing.

This video really helped me diagnose my ford 2011 Escape right turn signal issue. The issue was a dirty connector between my aftermarket trailer wiring harness and original connector. I was able to spray some WD40 on those connections and oh what a relief, it worked. I did use the diagnostic techniques in this video to test the connections without and then with the after market trailer wiring connector and pinpointed the problem once I removed the aftermarket CURT trailer wiring harness. Just be patient and you'll succeed. Thank you and God bless.

Great. Hope you get it resolved easily. NJ inspection used to check everything....blinkers, lights, brakes, horn, everything. Now they look at your paperwork, plug in a scan tool to make sure the check engine light is not illuminated, verify you've got a catalytic converter....and that's about it.

I don’t have a Honda but 2013 Kia Sorento- thought putting in new bulb would solve my rapid blink problem- didn’t work! Thought I would have to take it to electrical mechanic shop but searched and found your video. Looked for ground wire on body but it was shared with horn that works. My directional bulb goes into a socket with contacts that rotate into place. Looking at socket the ground contact looked a little bent so adjusted it and rotated back into headlight housing and it works. Thanks for setting me on the right path even if it wasn’t the exact same fix!

Thank you for the great film. It was especially useful for me, though I accidentally disconnected the grounding, and it was in a totally different place. I found it!! And what it was, I removed the headliner board for re[placing the upholstery on it, and disconnected the wire to the ceiling lens. The shop manual (I fortunately have for that car 2001 Saturn SL2) advised to attach those wires w/scotch tape, so I disconnected it fm/the plug by the rear window. The plug was sitting on a thin plate, which I assumed was there for keeping the plug in correct place. After I did some research and watching this film I've learned that grounding could cause Turning Signals go off. The Manual showed 2 grounding wires on the rear close to that plug. There was a clip on the plug, metal one. I disconnected the grounding there, so even w/plug in the T S-ls didn't work of course. It might be helpful for someone else. Pls check the grounding as well if you have a problem w/T Signals and the fuse is fine. I was about to replace the Steering Column Switch, and actually ordered one already (so will have a spare now, not bad thing though). Thank you again for pointing out on Grounding connections. Update 1: Now everything is working w/that clip off or on, so it was not the ground connection, just a mounting clip. I'm completely lost and don't know what was the problem before. Maybe still the Steering Column Switch. The car was sitting for a long time, probably smth got corroded inside of that Switch and after several shifts back and force it is gone.

I’m glad I found this video my friend has the same issue. And when u said about turn signal blinking at different speed inside the car I just realized that I did heard the difference. But did not paid attention to it. Now that u said if I will be checking fuses. And also the turn signal in his just stays on so it’s def not bulb issue. But now if it’s not fuses or relays. Then I hope the body shop that fixed fender and bumper and replaced the headlight didn’t accidentally messed with wiring.

Great job. Honda needs to do something about those ground connectors that are open to the outside weather elements. Especially with the lights which could be grounded closer to the light reflectors and more out of the corrosive salt and water elements.

Cadillac does too. Because my 2005 SRX has the exact same problem looks like.. All I know is I’m tired of changing bulbs.. It’s a challenge to get to the bulb period on these cars. This is the blinker and fog lights lower that’s quite a bit of work just to change a bulb. The head light lamp is a bit easier though.. But that blinker is WORK!! 😂🤣
@walterschutz-y1s3 ай бұрын
thanks for your video , i thought it was a bad ground since it seams the headlights blink funny when i put the bulb in and instead of going under the car i might try to splice the ground at the turn signal and just ground it somewhere above and thanks again for your video

Thank you and now I know I’m not going crazy.. I’ve changed the bulb three times this year on the same light signal passenger side and I literally just bought a new light period. I put it in and the very next day on a brand spanking new light it did it too. So of course something else is causing this problem. So thx so much for this video and it looks like it’s going to be a shop fix because I certainly don’t know that much about cars so I definitely wouldn’t try to take any wires loose to diagnose.. But at least I can stop taking my bumper off to get to this lamp just to replace a bulb. 2005 SRX 👍🏻😊♥️

@@Buckwsr This was an intermittent problem that the dealer service people couldn't diagnose because it was working when I had the car in for other service. The very next day it stopped working again (intermittently). I couldn't detect a ground through the ground side of the bulb socket. I then discovered that the bulb socket was a two piece arrangement that I was able to disconnect. It turns out that the bulb socket has two pins that plug into a wire socket. I put a small wire into the ground pin hole and reconnected the parts. Success! So far, so good after almost two days. Thanks again!
