Thank you
Hi
This car came to me as a non runner...
Initially, I diagnosed a immobilizer fault, which I have repaired... (Watch video here: • Toyota Yaris not start... ).
Then, the car would start and immediately would stall...
After a few tests and checks, I have noticed that someone has been messing with the wires on the ECU plugs...
Follow me on this video to find out what was the problem and how I have resolved it...
How I do repair wires: • How do I repair damage...
Hope you enjoy the video.
Any questions or comments put them below.
Like always, thank you for watching!

Is there anything more annoying, than fixing somebody else mess?😬 To be honest, i would refused, to even touch that car. The way they delivered the car to you... 😵. Open ecu's on the floor, fuel pump on the back seat, the wires all messed up... Only somebody really sure of their capabilities would accept that job. So as ever, Great job! 👏👏👏👏👏

I wouldn't touch this mess either. I was just fixing steering lock after someone else mess. Find out, that a previous "technician" ripped clean off the power motor pins from the PCB on in the connector while taking it apart. It took me some fecking time to figure it out. I said I will never take someone's job. Great JOB my friend.

It really is a nightmare cleaning up someone else's mess, especially in this case. Looking at the other comments it could be someone has tried parts substitution on that but either way they didn't know what the hell they were doing. I did look in horror at the state of the wiring in the first part. Great job as always you must have felt really pleased when it fired up. Nice work!

Great video, my only concern was not tracing those wires first to ensure no shorts and voltages going askew to where they are definitely not needed. They looked messy and a potential repair hazard. I enjoy contacting the original fiddler and hearing their story of how it got that way.

Just a tip to fit or remove sparkplugs. Find yourself a piece of rubber hose that will fit on the plug and it's easy grabbing the plug in its hole.

These Mk1 Yaris's were made in France and Japan. I have seen similar issues when trying to mix parts from the two. People have started splicing wires made a right mess trying to get them to work with wrong wiring/plugs/parts. The plugs, sensors and wiring right down to the pattern on the trigger wheel for the crank and the air gap for the cam sensors are all different despite the fact the cars look identical and the engines are basically identical. There are some Mk2 Yaris's 06-09 which were made in Japan although i hear these Japan made vehicles are wired in France. I have the factory wiring diagrams for the Mk2 Yaris and the factory manuals for the 1NZ, 1KR, 1ND and 1NR engines if you ever want to become a Yaris expert. I think i have some stuff somewhere for the Mk1 Yaris as well. Top work mate. You are one of my favorite automotive KZbin channels next to SMA, PHAD and New Level Auto.

I own 2 yaris. One made April 1999 this one was one of the first made. As they were released to Europe in April 1999. They began to build the factory in France in 1998 but this wasn't completed until 2000. My other car was made 2002. It had a sticker on it saying made in France when I first got it. I think they made in Japan 1999 and perhaps early 2000. I don't know about later. Although mileage on 99 model is double mileage on my France model I prefer model made in Japan 1999. Its solid and under the bonnet such good nick. No dents.i wonder if its possible to dent Japan car by normal driving. Japan one starts first time every time.

Hey, very good skills and reasoning while searching the failure without having any diagrams. Have a question for you as a total newbie, I bought a second hand Toyota yaris 2004 1.0, and the number 9 fuse which is15A removed by the owner because there is a leak, the fuse controls radio, cigarette lighter, combination meter, light reminder buzzer, multi display, power outlet, remote control mirror. He told me that he changed the battery but battery was still draining in a night, and it happens when there is a leak, so he spotted it just took it out, battery doesn't drain anymore, so means there is a leak in that wiring. I like to fix it DIY, do you have any advice as a starting point and generally how to approach?
@LMAutoRepairs
@LMAutoRepairs 2 жыл бұрын
You can put the fuse and measure those different components to see which one is draining the battery... I have a video on that on a honda civic... Have a look at it, will might give you an idea on how to proceed... On the video mentioned above, I used a different method to measure the drain, best if you have a clamp meter... 👍👍👍

Hi. Have you dealt with P0340 fault on those Toyta |Yaris cars at all? I have 1.3 2003 year and I replaced cam sensor, checked the wiring and the last thing I can do is to replace the cam chain (which is noisy BTW). But if that won't resolve my problem then I don't know what else to do. Battery voltage is good, all the grounds checked and starter is working OK (those things supposedly cause the P0340 aswell). How about, scenic II. NSR window fails to move. No noise heard. Suspect motor taken off with TEMIC and slaved into OSR. Motor now works. Put back into place doesn't work. Voltage check carried out on the plug, 12+ volts on Pins 3 & 4. Continuity tested ok (ish) between Pins 1 & Earth, then 2 & Earth with switch selected. Motor still fails to move... Might need to short Pins 1 & 2 directly to earth inside the door incase R2 is affecting it. Or, I can just ignore it.. ***Edit** - Switch and Motor Wiring for the rear Windows Motor - Pin 1 & 2 - Up and Dow commands, set by introducing 0v (earth). Pin 3 & 4 - 12v and Earth. Pin 5 - Blank Pin 6 - UCH Auto window close on door locking Switch A1 - Window Operate A2 - Earth (via control switch on drivers door panel) A3 - Drivers Door switch operation B1 - Same as A3 B2 - Same as A1 B3 - 12v Supply in Note - Directional supplies not mentioned. You'll work it out. Window Operation - Putting 0v (earth) to Pins 1 or 2 on the motor will make the motor move up and down.

@@LMAutoRepairs thanks, I've been watching loads. A big part of me knows it's the R2 plug as the carpet is wet. However, a little tiny bit of may says "hey, maybe the regulator that is too tight". I'm a little bit worried about taking the carpet back and looking at the R2, I know it's going to be a few hours crimping cables.. 🙄 I'd go with crimps over soldering, mainly because it's easier, and hey, if it works on aircraft, it will work in a car 👍.

BRAVO my friend, hats off - u see this type of job u cant have a trainee cause the way u gonna ask him 2check for sparks or XY ,it will never be the same when ur doing it with your hand and brain working at same time. i do my repairs alone because of similar issues,they will miss somethithing and by the ned u gonna trust a trainee ,hte job wont have a positive result. Luckily it was a toyota ,not a bmw or psa where a schema of wiring diagram would be a MUST. but hats off for the immo work and rest. ive found a toyota program called JADOOGAR it explains u where everthing gots to be, have a look at this software it is magic. RESPECT friend

Well Done. It still doesn't sound right to me when you revved it at the end. It sounds as though there is a restriction in the exhaust like a plugged cat or the start of it
