Toyota Yaris Mk1 Review - The Perfect Cheap Car For 2024?

In today's video we are looking at a small, affordable city car - The Toyota Yaris Xp10. The Yaris is an entry level city car with plenty going for it. My 17 year old daughter has just bought a year 2000 Toyota Platz, a Yaris with a boot. Only 79,000 kms, about 50,000 miles. The Platz has a 1500cc engine, the car is in excellent condition, paid NZ$3,400 and she loves it. Have not seen any rust, but will check the fuel tank. Great video by the way.

I have a 1.3 GLS automatic one of these with no rust anywhere, and no dents. It’s in the same blue as yours. It’s done 60,000 miles and has never had anything go wrong or break. They are excellent fun little things. I have another mk2 Yaris So I can get Classic Insurance for the MK1 now. So I can run 2 cars for price of one, almost. I often wiz out in the mk1 as I love it.

I replaced all the springs on my mk2 with Eibach ones. The straight line ride is much more plush, and there’s no roll in the corners. Well worth £175 The wheels are Corolla SR ones too. The 195 50 16 make the car stick to the road like it’s glued down. Loads of fun

Great car,still driving one myself. The afore mentioned rust problems are also an issue for me but easily fixed.

definitely, some are over 20 years old now so its always going to be an issue. My advice is to make sure you clear out the arches as often as possible to prevent dirt and any road grit from rusting the arch other than that its nice and easy to prevent with some wire brushing and underseal!!

Great wee cars. Think I prefer the pre-facelift XH10 like this one. And the black bumpers add a bit of old school vibes. If you ever want to sell…. I am ready… even if your £250 investment has gone up 😅

It should have 4 air bags, 2 in the regular position and 2 in the seats. At least mine has them, it's the restyle model.
