you should consider leasing an SE! Put down about $5k down for low monthly payments and then later trade/sell and put that money towards a new camry! By the time your lease ends, the newer camrys will look even better because toyota will most likely come out with a newer body and upgraded specs in a couple years!

The SE with AWD has some XSE features, such as the 7 inch information display, heated seats/ steering wheel, electronic parking brake, and even a moon roof. Pretty decent for the 27k price I've gotten mine for.

I literally just bought a white SE and went back forth between the 2 models shown. I loved the glossy front and dual exhaust of the XSE, but it wasn't worth an extra 3k. Though I did get the convenience package bc push button start was a 'must have' after my last 3 cars had it.

I kinda bought my 2020 SE blind after needing a new car since my old one was totaled from getting rear ended. A relative knew the manager at a local Toyota dealership and hooked me up on the price. Didn't know about the XSE since they only showed me the LE and SE trims they had. Ended up going with an SE with convenience and blind spot packages. Only $25.5k for all I needed. Would've loved more features like rear air vents and heated seats but they weren't must needs since I mostly drive alone and didn't feel like it would be worth paying more for a few luxurious features.

Thanks again, Jeff! I stumbled across this old video and found it interesting to compare the Camry SE and XSE. I did the same thing in November 2018 when I bought a 2019 SE configured about the same as the 2020 SE in this video, even the Super White paint and black interior. After 4 years I don't have buyer's regret, in fact I prefer the 18" wheels and no sun roof. The XSE is truly awesome but I don't mind the lowly SE key start ignition, manual emergency brake, manual passenger seat, etc. The car has been problem free well over four years so how can I gripe much! The one thing I still lament is how great the XSE taillights look. (The bright wraparound parking/DRL lights.) I wish they were plug compatible with the SE so you could easily upgrade to the XSE/XLE lights. Toyota could sell thousands of an easy to install upgrade kit. SE and LE owners would line up for such a thing. I still toy with the idea of buying the XSE lights and wiring them myself to make them work in my SE, I know it can be done. With just a $50 bulb change the front halogen DRL/turn signals can be upgraded to white LED DRLs with amber LED turn signals.

I upgraded to XSE taillights (fortunately not too much custom wiring) and white/amber switchback LEDs up front. And ice blue LEDs in the dome light and front door lights. Our old SE is an SE Xtra now! 😁

Idk what Toyota did with the suspension on these things but they ride amazing. My mom got a used SE to replace her 2016 hrv I bought off of her. I want one now 😅 it rides like a space ship. It’s smooth but has some sportiness to it. This is her first Toyota and she loves it! And I’m happy she’s in something reliable and easy to maintain.

Premium package is only in Canada. The audio plus package in the states adds the 8 inch infotainment screen with CD player, wireless charger, dual zone climate control and rear vents. The convenience package adds smart keyless entry, push start button and auto dimming rearview mirror with homelink garage door opener. Blind spot packages adds blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert and active trajectory lines.

Jeff, I've been enjoying the 2018 XSE V-6, white pearl with black roof and red interior. Last week, it was time for new tires so Yokohama Advan Sport A/S + replaced the oe Bridgestone EL400. Even better, I installed a set of the TRD Camry wheels. The car is more responsive now, like a sport sedan, with better steering, driver engagement, and feel for the road surface. Apart from a slight increase in cabin noise, there's no downside. These Yokohamas are categorized as ultra-high performance all-seasons, not summer gumballs, and they seem very appropriate for this car.

Great video Jeff! I will make one point. I'm not sure if it's a "midwestern" thing or not. On some Camry SE models at dealerships up here, I have seen my share of Camry SE's WITH the "rear seat" air conditioning vents! Just saw one at a dealership near me a week ago! Mark in Iowa.

You’ll get rear air vents on the SE if you get the optional audio plus package. That package includes the rear vents, wireless phone charger, 8” infotainment system and dual zone automatic climate control. I really wanted to get a Camry SE with this package last year but it would’ve brought the price to over $30k and I didn’t want to have to finance even more/pay more in monthly payments so I got the SE with just the convenience package and blind spot monitoring packages.

Gandalf The White I think I remember reading somewhere that you could use 0w 20 synthetic oil if you were in a pinch but then use 0w 16 at the next fill up. Not sure if 5w 20 should be used.
