I am gonna order this figure even though I'm gonna have alot of work to do fixing their errors lol. If you want better tentacles theres a seller on shapeways that has some movie accurate tentacle segments in a 1/6 scale I recommend

I just got into figure collecting and I notice Hot Toys has a lot of fanboys! Lol like I said I just got into figure collecting so I can't judge him completely but I do feel like he's nitpicking a bit much on this figure which I think toys era did a really good job on.

What you have to remember is that there are inaccuracies because toy era would be sued, you've got to change certain things to make it look close enough that everyone knows who it is supposed to be but not identical enough to be sued, the yellow on the arms was left off due to this I think, so yes toy biz is more accurate they were given the licence to create the character.

Nice review, I was curious about the spray painting you did on the tentacles, did you prime the surface area beforehand or spray directly onto them w/o any primer?

Another thing I'll criticize ToysEra for is the full articulation of the Tentacles grabbers, notably there's supposed to be 3 separate segments on each arm, but here it's only 2. It looks alright, but it's enough for me to notice and it's especially apparent when trying to get them to grab onto anything.

I have the toybiz collectors series which has a fully posable body not like the tb first release which was plastic tbcs has cloth very similar to TE but I pre ordered this, I hope i did not do a mistake. this review makes me think I got pretty much the same as the TBCS. Well at least i will have a stand and money bags for $220 :/

This is a super fan hating on a figure that literally has to incorporate inaccuracies into the mold and accessories. Like... homie, chill. Its either these small things that are a little off, or this figure isn't made at all. It does what it needs to do for an unlicensed figure.

The bags of money looked far more accurate to what we see in the film with the stuffing in. He wears a fedora in one small scene. They didnt bother with the spine because the figure is meant to be displayed with his trenchcoats on, which is also why it doesnt matter that his body isnt chubby enough. I think his arms honestly looked better before you painted them yellow. Anyway, the figure is definitley by far the best doc ock figure made so far.

The yellow is just too new or pristine, maybe if it was a darker yellow and had a little bit of scuffs maybe then it would have looked really good but as it is, it looked better without the yellow and his other complaints are nothing more than nitpicks since who is genuinely going to display Doc Ock without the trenchcoats or focus on his back.

I think you're a little too hung up on the fedora tbh. He wears it for literally 30 seconds of a 2hr movie, it's not a big deal. That said, I appreciate you pointing out flaws, even though I think you're being overly harsh for a 3rd party effort. Some of these might be a deal breaker for perfectionists (e.g. the spine, the arm molds) so I'm glad somebody goes over everything.

The Ock torso looks like from some other toys. Looks awfully familiar. Perhaps Toys Era bought the extra torsos for cheap and put into The Ock. It’s a good try from TE. Just they didn’t know you’ll be reviewing The Ock. You’re the man! Reckon The Ock be a one time production.

You are definitely wrong. You dont know this market, check out the toys era X-man line. Those figs were definitely sub par but because they are the only movie xmen figs they go for alot. This figure being unlicensed means they "inaccuracies" could have been purposely done to avoid lawsuit.

Toys Era does the best sculpts when an official one exists to recast. Given that no one has done Alfred Molina before, I give them a pass. It's recognizable even if it's not spot on. They did his belt right. The tentacles are very nice and can be painted if that's an issue for a collector. I say B-
