How to connect TP-LINK wireless routers together via wireless by using bridge mode

Followed your guide plus disabled dhcp as suggested and my wr841n v9.3 with latest firmware is now working perfectly as a wireless wifi extender.

Yes, the bridged router's (2nd router) channel has to be exactly the same as the First main router. Also, on the second (bridged) router you will need to disable the DHCP, because when the router's are wirelessly bridged the first main router acts as the DHCP server.

1st step: open the main router's (which is connected to the internet) menu, and change the channel from Auto to something else like "11". check the internal address and note it down (if its 192.168.1.1, the secondary router's address will be 192.168.2.1) 2nd step: open the secondary router's menu, and adjust the internal IP address and the channel(to the same 11, and the SSID) as mentioned prev. 3rd: disable DHCP on the secondary router 4th: enable WDS and do the survey&connect hope it helps

@Muhammad Mohsin Aslam its useful for sending data to an isolated area where the device you're using requires wired connection. For instance my apartment only has connection through one port, so I had to setup a bridge to get my internet from my living room to my room for my desktop. Dragging a wire that length between points would always get messed with by my dog. Only issue is bandwidth suffers a little.

You only have to configure one router, preferably the secondary one. BTW, TP-Link and Rosewill have near identical FW both having this feature.

No. The main router 'sees' the bridged router as a client. The bridged router then acts as a DHCP client for local LAN wired connections. All other wireless connections in your local area will still connect to the main router via wifi.

you have to disable the DHCP on that router too. you want your main router assigning ip addresses, not the repeater

Actually, you just need DHCP disabled on one router. It doesn't matter which one. Or if you have more than two routers, then only one should have DHCP enabled. It just makes more sense and easier to remember to have it on your primary router (the one that connects to your modem)

My network has 2 Tp-link routers both connected via ethernet and work fine, but you have to switch the wireless network (tp-link1 to tp-link2) in different areas of the house, how do I make it so it's all classed as one network and I don't have to manually switch??

+Kirk Bolam use the same SSID and password for both networks.

Use one of both of them on repeater mode and connect them to the router they will boost the signal also meaning you don't have to switch from one router to the other

go to 192.168.1.1 or 0.1 & setup wireless settings than go to advanced menu> operation mode > click Wireless modem instead of DSL modem that is all you need to do to connect to internet

Is it working only between tp link routers? I have a tp link and a sagecom router. I connected my tplink to the sagecom(this is my main router) and if i connect my tplink to my pc then windows shows the main router's SSID but it said that ther is no internet connection. Pls help me

I did everything said at the video turorial. tp-link connects as a bridge to main-router. If I connect to main-router internet is fine and I can ping tp-link. If I connect to tp-link bridge, I CANT PING main-router. Any idea? on tp-link-bridge I have DHCP disable, but there is also GATEWAY configuration, I tried both routers IPS and also none ip 0.0.0.0, but same result. Main-router sees tp-link-bridge but not on the other direction, tp-link-bridge does not see main-router.

Not much help this. I have 2 TP link routers to bridge and have had no success. Did excatly as the vid advises. Looked at a lot of info on this and no one mentions which router to configure. One of the routers is direct out of the Modem and the other is the AP. Which one do you configure ????

this video is ok but its not showing everything, ive set up SSID and password same on both routers, changed lan ip on second router to 192.168.3.1, mode and channel on both routers must be the same, i set up channel 1 and bgd mixed mode on both routers, disabled dhcp on the secondary router and it works

not all TP routers are capable of setting up wifi-wifi connection between each other. however, if you dont want cables running through hour house you should check if: -you disabled the DHCP on the secondary router (which is going to connect to the main router where the internet is coming from) -the SSID of the two routers MUST BE the same (the name how it appears when you search for wireless connections in your house) -the internal IP addresses (192.168.1.1) must be different (e.g 1.1 and 1.2)

though we can wirelessly bridge 2 routers that is not a correct way of doing it. you never accessed your bridged router to show network access A more detailed video or explanation was required. If possible kindly show or explain it in details.
