As an early 80s kid, the times I stayed home sick from school, laying on the couch watching the Price is Right during the mid-morning was always a treat even if I was as sick as a dog.

Not quite on par with Zenith, but better than... 6:56 I said 'seven'. I was correct. ... Barbara, your beautiful lavender dress, kyuute blonde curls, did not help you. Yep, that barbecue grill did not look like it was worth over $600. I said $250; I expected to be within $150.

At least the audience was energetic when Bob came out through the big doors... So close on Temptation... one of those cases where the second and third digits could have gone either way, but just ended up on the wrong side of things. Sometimes when this type of car is not seen on the show frequently, it's tough to figure out what the price of the car actually is - unless if you knew what the price of the car was, which is sometimes tough with different options.

That is the craziest price ever for that grill. A compatible model all these years later with inflation would cost 139 bucks at Walmart. I remember every now and then I would see a ridiculously high price for something on this show and I never could figure out why. I even knew back then things cost more in CA but knew some of those prices were bizarre.

That's the difference between made in the USA vs made in China. The prices have come way down especially factoring in inflation while the quality has gone from lasting a lifetime to disposable after a year or two. Keep in mind that these prices are the Manufacturers suggested retail price and most items were sold well under that, around 20% less than MSRP except for cars which were likely around 5% under MSRP.

You know that episodes of TPIR from September 1982 to September 1985 can lawfully air in its entirety even if a contestant shows up wearing a tube top which is illegal thanks to the Yolonda incident five years early. In addition, "I'm A Man" by Edd Kalehoff is played during the car display scene prior to the "Temptation" solo game..
