by far the information i have seen, you the man i have a 87 GTA black got that scoggin dicky manifold plate for the vortec heads looking to clean up the fuel rail and rebuild the same way thanks man

doesn't silicone eat rubber? and you can't get accurate torque with an elbow.

Thanks for your inquiry. Silicone lubricant is the suggested lubricant for O-rings from the factory and other sources. And yes, you are correct...you can’t get an accurate torque with a human elbow, that’s why I went to extra lengths to use the proper inch-lbs and ft-lbs torque wrenches for torquing the fasteners in the 4-video segment. I’ll have to watch again and see if I mentioned using my elbow. 😉💪

Can the fuel rail be flipped around so the fuel lines are coming out the back on the drivers side?

How did your originally get that little tube out of the fuel pressure regulator? I seem to recall a decade ago when I did mine, I couldn't get that little tube out of the fuel pressure regulator. And so I just didn't change that one oring. I'm having to do it again all these years later due to an oring leaking somewhere on the rail and figure I should make sure to change that one out too.

I was lucky...sort of...the fuel rail assembly had the incorrect O-rings, which caused my leaks. So the little tube popped out fairly easy with the small O-rings that a previous person installed. I like your question though. If you see our latest video, you will see that I just bought another TPI. In the future, I will see what it would take to get the small tube out. I picture trying to use compressed air (while blocking the other holes with rubber gloves on) or maybe getting a nail head down in the tube and slipping the head behind the edge of the tube...and then pulling on the nail. If you get to it before me, let me know.

@@CamaroFamily Okay. I had thought of getting a piece of thick raw leather I have laying around to wrap around the little tube and then clamping some vice grips on and twist it back and forth while pulling. Though there's a risk or damaging it with the teeth of the vice grips.

@@colt5189 That's good to protect the tube. leather is a great idea. I have some durable rubber (that I got back when worked on 3rdgens at GM in the early 90s) that I use in some cases like this.
