CORRECTION - I have learned since making this video that the signal path in the SDE3000-D is actually all DSP based, which has kind of blown my mind. It's incredibly impressive how analogue it sounds, but at the end of the day, who cares? You can hear for yourself how awesome it sounds in the video! Apologies for the mistake - I got the wrong impression based on some of the info about this pedal in the marketing.

It matters for what I want to do with it. I do dub and I feed the original back into itself on the mixing desk. If the new one could do that as well I'd buy it, but I doubt it after you said it's DSP.

@@slacknote and @tomquayleguitar, it's worth mentioning that while the manual doesn't explicitly mention "analog dry through," that it does have a direct analog pass through option under a somewhat cryptic "bypass" setting. I'm mentioning this understanding your note pertains to the original supporting analog circuitry that made the original SDE-3000 great which is indeed only DSP modeled now. Cheers all, Daniel

I own this unit now and I have played most Boss delay units in my time :) I have been like others! Why this unit when you can get a DD500 cheaper! To put it short, I think the 500 is a great unit but the SDE-3000D does some stuff better! The modulation is just gorgeous! The warm digital delay sounds are just top notch! it is the best digital delay I have played on! It doesn’t do everything! But what it does do! Does it better than the rest! You just need to spend time with one and you will know. If you like dual delays, beautiful chorus/flanger sounds! The SDE-3000D is the one for Boss pedals . I use to own the SDE-3 which is great but it is limited vs the big guy! fantastic for what they were able to cram in

@tomquayleguitar I am interested in this delay. I would be using it with an amp that has a parallel effects loop. You mentioned that you were using a kill dry method. I didn't see this mentioned in the manual. Could you explain how you are setting it up for the kill dry function? Thanks for the great demo too!

Press the SETUP button, select "In Out" and press enter. Under the ''Out'' setting, there's an option called dir.Mute (Direct Mute), that will kill the dry signal. If you need more details, look for DIRECT MUTE in the reference manual. Hope this helps 😉

Great job. Was curious if TAP will tempo simultaneously for both delay lines and preserve any time division between the two delay lines if tapped.???? This preserves the same stereo spread no matter what the tempo is

Hey Tom, I just got the SDE3000D and Im wanting to try to set it up the same way as you with the kill dry setup with the Soldano Astro. I have the tube amp expander and an Apollo Twin x (1 instrument jack input on the front and 2 xlrs/jack inputs on the back - two preamps in total) - would this accomodate the kill dry setup? Thanks a lot

Another great video, but you have a habit of making everything sound good. It does sound great. How would you use something like this in the context of a modeller like the GT-1000 CORE that already includes the SDE algorithm? I guess I am more curious from the perspective of someone who wants to use this tool in a live setup. How would you go about doing it? Or would it be overkill for someone who is aiming for a single mono path? Or stereo out to the front of the house? Thank you very much.

Let me help you out - you can use a delay pedal with a guitar and amp and that includes tube amps. B

I am not quite sure, but in comparison to the EVH version, i have the feeling the SDE 3000 D version sounds more smooth, or can the EVH sound exactly like the D version ?

I think so, but i learned to rely on my ears, and in comparison my ears tell me the EVH version sounds more neutral. I guess i need to hear it in the shop.@@feelmytool

It has output level control for each delay as well as an input level which features a visual meter using the cool display.
