Great interview! The interviewer asked thoughtful, interesting questions and Tina was so open in her answers. It feels like a casual, private conversation

Thank you SO much for posting: this is one of the best Turner interviews I've seen. There are glimpses of her real fire here - 'I am a Ferrari!' - together with her massively infectious humour and native intelligence. What an inspiration! She wanted to come back as a queen in a future life. Well, that's exactly what she was in the life she really lived - to the MAXX !!

Anyone fascinated at 16:30 when she is explaining how her speaking voice is naturally deep and has too much resonance then she adjusts her speaking voice higher. That was impressive to explain and demonstrate I heard the difference and I agree.

Never seen this interview before...but, I have to say, a lot of what she says and feels here, is what made me begin to fall in love with about her, in 1984. Thank you.

Interesting David Bowie commentary, but Tina kind of down played the very specific impact that Black American music had on him that he spoke of himself

she looks like her mother here. tina is an icon and extremely talented BUT i am not sure i'd approach her in the street. i once remember reading boy george's autobiography and he described walking up to tina in a dressing room but she simply dismissed him and did not engage with him at all. so tina obviously has a big ego.

Really? Well Tina is human. Perhaps that's what inspired her to become buddhist. You have to know that you want to be a better person. Also you have to be careful about who you engage with in Hollywood. Talent and all. Its very dangerous

Interesting because he practices the same buddhism maybe it was due his reputation.

What was Boy George doing in a dressing room with Tina? A dressing room is a private space. Perhaps she felt intruded upon in a space where she gets dressed and tends to other personal needs such as chanting.

Even if she dismissed one or two people, doesn’t make her a bad person or even says she has a big ego - she is human just as everyone else here and have different emotions, who knows what she was going through that day or even at that moment. Not because someone is sweet and friendly gives you the right to intrude in their personal space. He could have previously said something I’ll about her and she feline out, there are many different factors that can lead to his dismissal, we don’t know.

Don't blame Tina for not engaging with O'Dowd - he's a nasty piece of work. Tina ultimately survived because of her acute instincts about people, and acted on them after she'd finally freed herself from Ike. She learnt in the hardest possible way of the need to protect herself from future evil influences. She would have recognised O' Dowd's monomaniacal cocaine vibe immediately, having suffered Ike Turner's cocaine driven violence for years.
