Trabajo Market - MMDA

Watch as the MMDA TFSO try to clear the sidewalks and roads surrounding the Trabajo Market in Sampaloc, Manila.
Many vendors have chosen to do things "by the book" and rent space inside the legitimate market place. But others have chosen to setup their stalls on the sidewalk and road outside.
Unfortunately that can often mean those following the rules are losing customers because many people would simply buy from the sidewalk vendors without ever entering the legitimate market.
Aside from ambulant vendors, some obstructions are from those who have a legitimate space inside a building, but have extended outside, onto the sidewalk and road.
As much as possible, the MMDA want the vendors to stay within their allowed space, so the sidewalks are clear for pedestrians and the roads clear for cars, motorcycles and other road users.
After this clearing, the team continued with a towing operation which you'll see in my next video.
