This was a very nice nod to Doris Day, who was one of the most accomplished, singers and actresses of her time. And that movie is one of my favorites. Thank you for not messing with the melody or the words.

I know Tracey mostly does her acting stuff, but I wish she had done more music for us. Just like this song she really gives us a fantastic 80's+ version of the sixties with her sound. She does a great version of this song.

Most cover versions are usually pale imitations of the original but Tracey turns this Doris Day classic into a magical singing performance. This video is also a masterpiece. And the actor (resembling Eric Idle) is fantastic - I love his sneering grin 'cos he thinks he's gonna get his oats later! Tracey's expression when she does the 'splits' is a joy to behold as is her knowing glance downwards when she sings 'Make love to me' then hides her face in her frilly dress! I roared with laughter when Tracey desperately clung to the mirror ball and the final "choo-choo cha-cha" into the train engine was superbly choreographed. Just a brilliant video and I had no idea Hank Marvin played the intro, although I should have guessed!

Its not about getting his oats later, men of this generation who wore this type of moustace were generally known as 'cads' and most of them would have a smirk similar to his.

It's now 2021 and this is still a classic. Even the original singer would agree. That shows and it does prove what others know who don't like Tracy singing this brilliant great forever always classic. They who have no knowledge of understanding real true talent like this. Tracy Ullman for many years performed very well and is a real true star with a pure solid heart of gold. She is a real true singer and also very funny when she wants to be Going way on back to where and when she first performed. She has gained and done very well over the many years Performed to many full packed autotoriums with no seats empty. Remember where Tracey Ullman came from as many other famous brilliant great singers. Her songs sold well in various parts of the world . She is idolised and loved world wide over. She is very good and brilliant at singing other singers songs . True star real talent is recognized with Tracey. Her songs have sold well into the thousands and still are today. Real true star singers also know real true talent like Tracey Ullman. Again remember where she came from . Tracey doesn't and won't make a mess of other singers songs like those who have . She is idolised and loved world wide over and always will be now and forever without fail or doubt guarantee. So tell me how can anyone give thumbs down to don't like her singing . Everything she does suits her to the part she plays. Singing and comedy. Tracey Ullman a real true star like many.

It is funny because Tracey has stated that singing was not a strong suit and she thought she sounded like "Minnie Mouse".... I have to say she is dead wrong... Along with her other phenomenal talents, she sings just fine and in fact her voice was the perfect vehicle for the album... A true gen of perfect pop from the 80s... I still listen to it 34 years later.
