Great tune. It’s interesting how the 60’s and 70’s aesthetic is treated in the video as almost being the distant past, when it would only have been a few years previously. It’d be like making a video in 2025 with a 2010s aesthetic. It also goes to show how fast fashions changed by decade in the last century and how static they are today.

i produced a movie and we had a very short, but important, acting role for ed. it was a low budget movie and ed was friends with the director. ed was almost 70 and never complained about anything, not the humble accommodations, or the fact that he was sweating his ass off in his costume for 3 hours... then, at the end, he refused payment. still not exactly sure what 'punk' is, but I think ed tudor pole is keeping it alive.

1980. I remember this song so well. I was twelve when it came out and never realised it was an anti-war song. I think it got to #2 just missing out the coveted Christmas top spot. Funny thing is, I don't remember who was Christmas #1 that year!

This superb offbeat song with the flailing guitar was a huge UK hit in the early 80s. I don't recall Tenpole Tudor having much other success.
