@@rayneweber5904 This is when human discovered silica. The two episodes referenced are examples of various crews coming into contact with it. Once in planet composition, the other in lifeform. Also, nothing in this video is AI.

@@rayneweber5904 Sorry that you feel that way. I thought it was interesting. Silica is not simply sand, it is a component of sand. Glass is obviously present in Star Trek. Despite it being about patents at the end, it is also about the process in which fused silica is used to make a more reliable glass. Clearly what Mr. Hyde did was a major discovery.
