the difference in bike culture is so clear here. all the NYC vids are flowing from start to finish, running red lights, changing lanes and directions to flow with the traffic. cycling in the UK for about 4 seconds and you get trapped behind a coach!!! haha

this is nothing compared to taiwan its bike island
@joshnicholson29343 жыл бұрын
NYC riders probably think they're best/the fastest but yeah, being fast is easy when the streets are 3 lanes each side and everything flows. Nothing flows here. Drivers freak out at the first sight of a cyclist. You can't always run a light, the margin for error is so small with the small streets, everything is unpredictable. And this is in London, you should see other cities
@JPLonDoN1012 жыл бұрын
did you see Matt stop for a single red light? These are not not repetitive, boring junctions... way more technical. Ride into a crossroads with no brakes and force oncoming traffic to skid to a halt to avoid you? Such "skill" Haha....

More difficult than NY here in the UK. Peds can legally jaywalk and do often from behind parked cars like in 23:03. Many car drivers don't like cyclists - seem to blame them for congestion which is odd.

I gotta say I love these vids. Being way older I can see the excitement of track bikes but I started on a regular bike bc I need a break from peddling time to time and I lost 65 pounds. Then I got an electric bike to take some of the suck out of biking and I thought I was hooked. I planned on buying a van, loading it up w a bike and just going everywhere to explore. I hate to report that the coppers killed that dream. I was issued 2 $500.00 tickets by those muppets. My bike is peddle assisted. Meaning if u don’t peddling, it doesn’t help. No throttle at all. I never had to pay those tickets and I knew I didn’t have to. I just hate dealing w idiots of which the United States police force is among the dumbest group of individuals I have ever met. I got the van! I also have 2 one wheels and 2 gotway electric unicycles. I love them. I could never keep up w u guys on a track bike but I could on my gotway. Enjoy your lives guys!

@motelsuicide70484 жыл бұрын
Usually by crossings, meaning if you park there it's dangerous. Your blocking the view to cross safe for pedestrians. Certain vehicles can get away with parking on yellows for a short period. Delivery drivers ect. There is absolutely no stopping anywhere near the jagged lines.

@Stevie Blue We have single yellows, don't park at certain times. Double yellow, never park there unless your unloading or dropping someone off.
