Brings back memories. I raced there when the track first opened. Prior to that we raced as the Four Counties Kart club. People made their own karts in those days but there were also manufacturers. I raced for Get Kart owned by Bernie Turney and had the first Parilla engine in the country. Those were the days of Roger Biss who imported McCulloch engines. Memories include Roy James, one of the Great Train Robbers, turning up a week after in his E Type. It was fun being part of the karting scene in the old days.

Used to race there about 3 years ago while I was studying in the UK! Beautiful circuit, and also had a friend of mine who takes a completely different racing line in the stadium bend as opposed to the traditional way. He used to run extremely wide and doesn't meet the first apex or the kerb and then straighten up the kart and takes it like a drag race to the hairpin and still ended up in the 42's. But this lap was total perfection extracting the complete potential of these karts. I timed it and it was a 41.62. I think It's the best one can do at rye with these karts! And nice video mate, brings back a lot of memories!

Fantastic video Brad. In turn one would he have been flat all the way through, or a feather of the brake to get the nose in for the second apex?
@BradPhilpot5 жыл бұрын
Ryan Sedgwick it’s not a brake, just a lift off of the throttle at the point you run slightly wide.

@@BradPhilpot Thank you. I'm racing at Rye tomorrow and will practice. I'm pretty sure I'll be using the brake pedal far more than I should around the whole lap!
