I'm just scratching the surface on how much stuff my Artist 6 version does. And I'm only using the Studio One DAW to do Livestream sound with plug-ins, I'm not in here creating songs yet, but the ability is there. And yes, I'll eventually step up to Pro. Great info as always, Joe.

I use track templates all the time.. I have guitarists that like their amp sims and all the track FX chains and fully pre mixed and saved, then imported into a new project with all those settings, and the busses they connect to.. If Track Presets works like this, as it does for Track Templates in CWbB, That is fantastic, a key function I NEED.. :)

I could see this being handy to dial in different rooms. i.e. you record drums at one guys house for one song. then you record at another place. You can have these settings dialed in for each room so to speak.

I use “Import Song Data” to do much the same thing but this is a useful alternative that looks quicker and easier once the template is created. Thanks.

I've found a shortcoming with this feature. Try this. Click Add Tracks then Load Track Preset. Scroll to the preset you've created. In my case it includes sends to parallel compression and reverbs. Great. Just as described. Now you can drag your audio to the track as Joe shows. This next way is the shortcoming. Drag audio into Studio 1. Open the console and right click the channel and select Apply Track Preset. Select the exact same track preset as before. Notice how all the sends to the parallel compression and reverb is set to None. Any busses are also not included. Is this a bug?

Great video!! This is really powerful but what I miss is that you have a option if you want to contain the song data automation as well like audio data end midi data I am a cubase user and I'm considering making the switch to studio one butt in cubase you have Track Archives and that give you the option if you want also the Track data for me that's really powerful I know you can import data form another project but that's not really handy if this is a feature that can be added I definitely make the switch

sorry I have presonus studio one 5 and I have been having problems with my universal mackie control controller (not pro) the master channel drops after a while in mackie control mode, the logic mode did not do it but it started to do it and the hui mode does not do it and I already tried with another mackie control of a friend and the same thing happens where I can ask support to help me

what if you drop in 2 vst track presets with the same group track and send verbs, would I have duplicated group tracks and send verbs, or just one group track and send verb with both vst’s routed to it?

i think this will come if we keep pushing it. i agree eq and compression plus creative fx very useful to have at hand. for now i think macro shortcuts to add and open is a great work around.

This is something that I've been looking for in Studio One.. Track Presets in SO1, are very similar to the Track Templates in CWbB.. What do you know about Melodyne integration in Studio One? is it still click-select audio, drag and drop on project timeline, and a tempo map is created automatically? Is this method available for creating a project tempo map from any pre-recorded audio file? Major and most important question for my studio production activities.

@@highestbuilding I know musicloop, but that's different - you can't save multiple tracks at once. This would help working with VEP Pro and working with movies and TV shows when arranging all the music for the entire series (movie). Of course - musicllop is a great feature of Studio One!

Yes. Both Atoms still work fine in V6 as they did in V5.

I have 10 packed guitar tracks in the arrange window which in the mixer is in a bus where I put all my effects ! But when I try to make a track preset with this I only get 10 plain tracks in the mixer that isn't in a bus ??? How can I make a track preset that automatically put the tracks within a bus ? If that's at all possible?

i have upgraded to S1 v6 since almost first days it came out and no complaints for it, it works nice and stable (at least for me) , but unfortunately all i see is that presonus is giving more and more to the sphere members, while us who get perpetual licenses are staying back... no consoles, not any new module for FAT Channel and something of all these goodies unfortunately, while there isn't even a trial version for these even to try them out.

I think Presonus may have made a pretty big mistake with the track preset functionality and didn't think this through completely. Yes, the track preset works and I can see that it is pretty useful (compared to creating a Template), however the most obvious use case is that over time, recording engineers are going to tweak/modify a track - say add another plug-in to a track. Then they may want save that to the existing track preset. There is no way to do that. The only way I can see is to delete the existing track preset and save it again. The problem is, you may not remember to include all the tracks when re-saving the track preset. It would have been simpler for Presonus to add a functionality - 'save to existing track preset'
