Hey Cenk! Love this series I always support and buy your videos, some incredible stuff man. I have a Question on this one that stumped me a bit that you did not go into much. But you were mentioning how you Capture the midi from the OP1 onto the electribe and mono machine, using the cool sequencing gadgets that the OP offers, like its arp or tombolo etc.. and you capture what I think is a midi sequence and then those machine capture what I believe is the midi sequence generated from the op1. If that is the case, I would love to know a bit more on that, and how the midi is set up to do that. I have a semi similar set up where instead of the OP1 I have a Novation Launch pad pro.. But Anyways, superb video! thanks and hope all is well!

Hey!! Thanks for the support! Really appreciated! Yes i use the op1 to generate sequences for the machines. Op1 goes through a kenton usb to midi box, which simply gives the op1 a midi out and in over its usb connection. The midi out goes into the midi in of Octatrack. From there, i set the Octatrack's auto channel to 11 (it can be any other midi channel of course) i also set op1s midi channel to 11 too. So whatever midi data the Octatrack receives at midi channel 11, it will control the highlighted (selected) channel. Then i use the Octatrack's midi tracks to control external gear in the midi chain such as electribe and monomachine. To do this, i assign the Octatrack's midi channel to what the external gear is set to. In my case, the electribe's synth tracks were on midi channels 12-13-14-15, monomachine was at 1. When this is setup, Octatrack acts like a midi mastermind. Select different octatrack midi tracks to control external gear with op1 (or whatever machine is sending midi to octatrack). Then lets say im going to create a sequence for electribe. I select the midi channel on Octatrack which controls the electribe and use op1 sequencer to come up with a nice sequence. Then, while that sequence is playing i would start the realtime recording on the Octatrack or electribe sequencer to capture the midi notes from the op1. In this session, i captured the op1 midi notes into the electribe sequencer. The monomachine sequences were captured in the Octatrack midi track. Both would also work vice versa. I think the essence is to capture the sequence being played from the op1 into an external sequencer, whether its the electribe or the Octatrack in this case. Its a great workflow. Hope this helps! @@MrDataline woah! Incredible explanation! I have it already set up close to this but a tad more complex. I have a launchpad pro as my OT midi controller and a keystep for playing keys. Then I have them both going into a midi merge that then goes into the OT. Then I have the OT as the master going to a midi thru box feeding to my boxes. Typhon, db01, and DT. But I never tried to record a midi sequence from one of those controllers back on the machines generating the sound. That’s pretty cool and a unique ninja tactic specially for the OP 1 withs it’s quirky sequencers. I’m sad now I let mine go to purchase my OT lol! Wonder if I can record midi sequences like that to my db01 or my Typhon. Anyways cheers and many thanks for the very detailed reply.
