@@amblincork Personally didn't have a problem with it and didn't perceive it as disrespectful. If anything I thought the opposite as he was showing respect to Paula's performance and didn't want to take any of the focus away her accomplishment. I also think he was in a difficult position and maybe felt like anything he said (about his own performance) may have come off as excuses, even though he likely had legit ones.

At 4:40 notice the difference in running style. LS lands on his heels while the other guy lands on his toe ball. Landing on the toe ball is a better form of running, more efficient, and less sustained to injury.

Advice on swimming: To have an easier time making sure to keep your head pointed straight down looking at the bottom of the pool when you swim, think about rotating your chin to take a breath as if your recovery arm taking the stroke leaving the water has a string attached from your hand to your chin. Dont rotate your head to breathe by moving your forehead first

@@leslie7922 Yes - what I dislike about them is many amateur athletes will now feel the need to pay out a lot of money to try to be competitive in their own races - it is a spiral which only profits Nike - for years I have been buying Nike as they suit my feet but last year bought a pair of Brooks which seem just comfortable as Nike so at least I have an alternative to Nike - signed 'former loyal Nike customer'

Lionel is well known for being super honest. I wonder what his thoughts are with the current debt that ironman have racked up, the lack of refunds to the 1000s of age groupers around the world. And what the other athletes are saying in closed chats amongst themselfs. Can he see ironman being around in 5 years? Happy training, say safe

At least so much of what limited LS at Challenge Daytona is under his control and relatively easily fixed, nutrition, bad equipment choice, that this bodes well for Challenge Miami. I'm stoked to see what he'll do there.

Lionel is incredibly driven and dedicated. I enjoy watching his workouts because i find the mental factor to push the most interesting. But there is always the fear that at some point its all going to go terribly wrong. I just want him to win Kona! I just can't see how he can maintain this level and he won't. Its always going to be catch up for him after the swim. just a bad way to start a race , period.
