Man, you could interview Tim Pierce every single day and never reach the bottom of his knowledge and experience -- and his awesome *stories* from the '80s and '90s. I wish I could go back in time and be a fly on the wall at those sessions. Jamming with Jeff Porcaro?! Seriously?!! Wow!!

there are no superfluous notes when Tim plays. Everything has a purpose and a passion involved. He is quite amazing, and a fabulous teacher too.

Tim just doesn’t play better than most- he explains himself, music ideas, gear, talent,- Tim explains things completely, intellectually, and he expresses what the idea is concisely with great syntax…yea he’s good

There’s a pretty cool doc called “Hired Gun” that came out in 2015 that’s all about session and touring musicians in the industry. It’s worth seeking out if you haven’t already seen it.

That's the way to interview, Rhett: Ask appropriate and intelligent questions -- ideally based upon what your interviewee has already spoken about -- and then get out of the way and let him or her tell a story, uninterrupted. (Your pal Rick Beato likewise excels at this art. Perhaps you've influenced each other...?)

It's tough to be Tim Pierce, when you sit down and pour out your heart and soul, and then the title and thumbnail only mentions Luke, Landau, Huff, and Bukovac. Me thinks, Tim deserves better.

I love listening to Tim tell his LA stories. I recently discovered that 5 or 6 of the solos I learned in my 80s band, all different artists mind you, were Tim Pierce creations. I grew up listening to Huff and Landau because of the selection of artists I knew at that age. But I narrowly missed reading "Tim Pierce" enough times on album sleeves to internalize his name. Now I know.

Yeah, his solo for Bryan Adams’s Robin Hood soundtrack hit, was the only that got me through that song playing everywhere I went for that year, and I still hear it once or twice a year. 😝

@ericirwin49018 күн бұрын
It’s a Wide Sky P125C. Handmade by one-man shop builder named Patch Rubin.
@ghost79ish8 күн бұрын
Thanks. I've been seeing it from time to time for a few years now and I think it's beautiful! I'll look into the luthier.
@ericirwin49017 күн бұрын
@@ghost79ishYou’ll see one of his builds on Reverb every once in a blue moon, but they never last more than a day or two (and usually seem to sell offline). Because he’s a one man shop, wait list is pretty far out…like 3+ years. So if you like them and are patient and willing to wait, it’s, I believe a $200 deposit per guitar. He also locks you in at the price it is now, which I think is pretty cool of him. Who knows what a guitar of that quality will cost in three years? 🤣🤣🤣 He also does a smaller “335” style that isn’t on his website yet. It’s called a Tawa.
