One of the better videos I have seen for getting started with Luna.You demonstrate and explain the recording process in a very concise and understandable manner. Great job!

Thanks Dave -I learned more about actually recording a project with Luna watching your video than watching scores of UA official videos!

I am in total agreement with Billy Buck, this video is what Universal Audio should be doing. UA seems to make video with themselves in mind! Your videos take a step by step approach for us who don't work for UA! If I may suggest one thing, when you are making edits, please speak just little more clearly and louder. For example, I went back a couple of times in the video, just to hear what combinations of buttons you pushed too duplicate. But you videos are by far the best for us strive to learn LUNA! I have superior drummer 3. It was working up until I started to map it to play it from my Roland SPD 30. I can use my Triton LE to control Sup 3 in stand alone mode, because in stand alone it allows me to access my audio-Midi set-up. but when Im using it as a plug-in its no longer working. It was working before I tried to control it from the SPD 30. Again, I hope you keep making more video...Thank you very much!

Truly awesome! Not intended to be a tutorial, but still kind of is. Great musicianship too, Subscribed!

Dave, this video isn't a tutorial as you said, but it was freaking perfect. I am also a very long time logic user, and also decided to download Luna (a year ago) and just now wanting to see if it's comparable to Logic because all of their new updates have basically destroyed the performance of the app.... Thanks for making this, it's super helpful! btw, you are a very talented musician, great performances!

So professional. So intuitive. So focussed on the learner. Thank you. If you get a chance to put a similar style video on mastering, well, that would be great.

Hi All, I've had a few questions about part 2. Unfortunately, though I did capture a screen recording of the mixdown that I planned to use for part 2, a technical glitch in the screen recording process made the video unusable, so I wasn't able to complete the second half of the video that I planned. I appreciate the interest in a mixing video though, so I may try to do a mixing video using another, newer project soon.

Thanks, Dave! I agree this was much more informative than the official UA videos. Thank you for taking the time to create and share it. I can't seem to find Part 2, did you post it yet?

Hi dear Dave. thanks for this tutorial. I have a really important question. How did you move the timeline view to the right without touching the buttons? I have this issue that I can't find a shortcut or tutorial explaining (when you are too zoom in on a track and you want to move to the left or right without zooming out first. thanks in advance
@DaveDeWhitt3 жыл бұрын
Hi Evans Briceno - I use an Apple Magic Mouse, and to navigate around the timeline in LUNA I simply scroll left or right on top of the mouse track pad area with one finger. This isn't a LUNA setting though, it's actually set in the macOS System Preferences, and you need to be sure that under mouse settings / more gestures that you have Swipe Between Pages selected and the option to scroll left or right with one finger selected. Hope this helps. While on the topic, another, related key gesture for me is the ability to use the control or option combo keys with mouse single finger up/down swipe to zoom the track either horizontally or vertically. Try it out if you haven't already!

I've watched this video several times and commend you for the effort. However, it is identified as Part I. I can't find a "Part 2", i.e. a mixing tutorial. Did you not record one or have I missed it ? Thanks.

Hi, sadly, I intended to post a second part, and captured video, but a glitch in the recording made the video unusable. I have been kicking around the idea of mixing a completely separate track and recording the process, so perhaps I'll do that soon. Glad you enjoyed part 1!

Great video Dave, can I ask what is the spec of your mac running Luna please - UAD's system requirements are somewhat vague, and I see a lot of folks having performance issues especially around their graphics processor
@DaveDeWhitt4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, @podxtv. It's a 2017 iMac with 16GB mem and Radeon Pro 570 4096 MB graphics. I added this to the description above too, because it's a great question.

@@DaveDeWhitt Great thanks, I can't afford to go silly on an upgraded Mac as I need to invest in a reasonable Apollo interface as well. Look forward to more Luna from you in the future :-)

@@DaveDeWhitt Hey Dave, I had a Hackintosh built with an Intel i9 9900 8 core with 32 MB of ram and its fast. Its comparable to a Mac Pro worth $8000.00 and I payed $2400.oo. Its something that you can look into for any future upgrades. This computer won't be obsolete in five or ten years because I can just up-grade the mother board, the RAM and anything else.

@@DaveDeWhitt hey Dave, I was wrong regarding my suggestion to you speaking louder. Your video was perfect. I was just watching it around 12:45 am so I couldn't raise the volume. LOL In the 25 minutes watching your video, I learned more as a beginner in LUNA than I did watching any of the Official UA LUNA video's. I hope you make more.
