it wasn't inhabited by anyone. Humans had not yet reached the island. You may want to read about history, rather than jumping in conclusions in the future.

The birds are endangered by humans. Touching them and collaring them and even moreso, eating their food. Obey Genesis 1:29, There were no cow on Lord Howe. They were brought there for bloodthirsty meat eaters.
