Tractor Mowing Heavy Brush On a Slope With A Heavy Duty Rotary Cutter

We use our Kioti RX7320 tractor with the Titan Implement 3515 15 foot flexwing cutter to mow thick brush on the slopes of our farm. This area has overgrown thorns and woody brush and the tractor and heavy duty cutter will have its work cut out for it. ‪@LSE_TRACTOR‬

Hi Joe, great video, really enjoyed seeing the view from above the tractor. From up high, you could really see the slope of the pasture. Those thorn bushes are such a pain (literally), so it is good that you keep them from getting too big. With cutting a large swath with each pass, you are probably saving wear and tear on your equipment as opposed to cutting with your small cutter. The larger mower allows you a lot of extra time to do something else. Hope you and your family have a great summer season.

Thanks for watching Ben. And yes, saves time, less wear and tear and hopefully we can keep those thorns under control! Glad you like the new camera angles! Lol. Still learning every day buddy. 🤣👍🏼👊🏼

Nice that you can run the 15 footer! Almost time to start Bush hogging here. Good to see the RX handled it nicely.

Hey buddy! Man I’ve watched you run that bushwhacker and I guess I just got jealous. Lol. Runs it great, the RX is an absolute beast. Maybe one day I can rent that air bnb and we can do a collaboration!

We've had a 15' for 20 year's and going to rebuild it this year. Better if you had a 100+hp. Keep your tractor in low range and a gear lower than you want to go, to save the tractor clutch.. Make sure your drive train clutches are adjusted so they spin. Paint and check before a big mowing day. It's great on banks and around the field. Don't straddle round hay cores. Use the wing to slowly lower down on the core. Most Round balers are hard core now and its like a stump or log, she'll shake, shimmy and ring a shaft.

Great points and advice Marty. 100+hp would be better, but this tractor is all we need other than a couple big mowings per year. Good to hear your 15 footer served you for 20 years! Hope mine does the same. Thanks for watching!

Are there voluntary fire fighters in your area? In Australia if a farmer wants to burn land or bush they usually tee it up with the local rural bush fire brigade and they will send a crew, normally neighbours in the brigade, to help out. That is a really beautiful mower.

Hey Joe, that's a great setup for all that acreage. I hear you about "spring is here" as I've mowed our 1 acre food plot twice to kill off the grains and now the clover is doing great with good rain and sunlight. Our hunting lease clover plots are also phenomenal. Pastures have been sprayed but not sure if we'll fertilize them this spring...priced fertilizer this spring? 💰💰 Take care. B&D
@JoeTheFarmer
@JoeTheFarmer 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching buddy. And I hear you on fertilizer. The prices are insane and I think a lot of farmers and land managers are going to take a “gap year” lol. Been really enjoying your channel. Hunting in Florida is something I haven’t done and it’s fun to watch you work that sandy soil. Take care!

When the soil hits 60 I would cast buckwheat on that hillside. It’ll choke out those thorn bushes and come up thick. Really good for the soil if you want to try cereal grains in the fall.
@JoeTheFarmer
@JoeTheFarmer 2 жыл бұрын
I would have to hit it with glyphosate a few times first. The blanket of grass is so thick the buckwheat wouldn’t make contact with the soil. That actually was part of my plan until I saw seed and fertilizer cost! 😬

@@JoeTheFarmer yeah I saw 131313 at 20$ for 20lbs. I’ve just been using Lyme like crazy. I’d say 1500lbs in that field will bring it to life. Brandon killin us all brother. Corn is 20$ a bag and no end in sight. I figured I might as well give it a try. Hope you been out chasing turkeys a bit brother.

It’s unreal man. People think prices are high now, just wait! Glad we bought pallets of feed a while back. I really want to plant corn and beans but there just needs to be a lot or work prior and on principle I’m not paying that much for fertilizer and seed. I did get a big ol’ Tom and plan to get another one this week some time!

As time progresses, I’m feeling better about the 7320. Got about 300 hours on it now and it’s doing what I need. I have a 10 foot bush hog brand trail type that is no issue. Also have an 8 ft heavy bush hog branded that is 3pt hitch that I hook to the bigger Deere (80 pto hp). 3pt needs a heavier tractor. Most of my tractor needs revolves around making hay and feeding. The Kioti has been great so far

Great video!! Looks like the Kioti & Titan batwing rotary cutter did a great job! And I hope Larry cut you a really good deal on this! Because I would have probably went with the Titan 2515. I didn't seem like you were cutting anything close to 3 in diameter trees!

Thanks man! They really did do a good job. They are always fair with me man (as you know). I'll have a video out soon that will show you a different part of the property where you will get to see some of the thick stuff. Buy once cry once. This cutter should last me 20 years (and at this rate they will be a million dollars then!). Appreciate you watching and still waiting on a picture of that RX!
