The left (hidden) knob controls the max height when the ''raise' button is pressed to raise the 3 point hitch. This is useful when you don't want to raise the 3 point all the way each time. Set this knob at the desired height, and set the depth control to the desired depth, then simply use the raise and lower buttons to move between these two presets. Hope this explains this. We skipped it in the video. Sorry.

The knob on the left under that cover on the 3pt hitch actually sets the quick return height limit. Keeps you from crashing certain configurations of hoses, implements ect into parts of the machine. I would say the snow package would be the farmers choice for that size tractor. Elec hookups for planters, sprayers, spreaders and hay equipment, extra hydraulics in the rear, preset levels on the 3pt for turning at the ends of fields or from field to field road use, and mounting locations for the screens to run them. Such a great thing not having to try and add them in later on.

My dream machine would be a 3052R. I moved up from a 3520 to a 4052R last year, mainly for the improved pto power (I didn’t feel like a 3046 really made enough difference at the pto for my use.) but would happily go back to a 3 series for the smaller, more maneuverable frame size. The extra power has been great, but sometimes the 4052 is just a bit big physically for what I need, and I have to work around it.

The top is 48 inches off the ground, and the 440r will not budge them. Our prior tractor with less FEL specs picked them up quickly. I do not understand how it could already have dry-rot damage and be unable to budge the pallets. The dealer says we should have bought a 5 series.

Holy smokes Tim !! Finally a right hand door shock !! Way to go Bolton hooks !!!!! Got mine ordered waiting for it to be shipped. Shipping was a little high at $20 bucks for such a small little box !! Tim, it's OK to harass John Deere about simple little items like this !! It would make the tractor so much nicer and easier to work with and Kenton is right I'm the same I use that right hand door constantly to reach in and mess with my three point up-and-down on my 3R series the loader leaks down all the time, so I have to reach in and lift the loader back up if I'm using my grapple to hold the logs up off the ground for cutting up firewood !! And I think everybody gave John Deere crap about a 20 or 30 year old Jensen radio that they were STILL putting in brand new machines ! Not only NO BLUE TOOTH but they were still charging $500 for a $50 radio More features that they should've added why not a self leveling loader, on the 3R series Yes, you can get it on the 4 series I know, and the 2 series and the 1 series why not the 3R series ??? So again, every series, except for 3 Just the same 320R loader nothing new !! I actually looked in to adding a electric hydraulic valve that splits the flow from the lift, and the tilt at the same time to make it, a self leveling loader through the hydraulics !! I actually spoke with someone at Summit hydraulics about this because Kubota uses it Bobcat uses it, and the fact that you can make it a self leveling loader from just switching a switch in the cab is so cool or if you just want to use it as the regular lift and tilt Flip the switch off ! Kubota definitely has much better features and better hydraulics then John Deere by far ! ( NO LEAK DOWN ) And John Deere knows it ! I think more people need to complain so they will actually come up with maybe a kit that you can add to your existing machine. The guy at Summit hydraulics was going to look into just that I told him it would be a great seller for them, whether they take the advice from an old farmer,we will have to wait and see ? Well everything's all about money if it'll fill their bank accounts they might do it and the guys at Bolton hooks are almost sold out of the right hand door shock upgrade. Kenton had me rolling about the rear windshield wiper ! It only moves about 9 inches !! Lol Oh sure any cab will cost close to $12,000 you think they would have illuminated controls for nighttime use, including the heat and air conditioning and what about intermittent wipers ? As soon as you get out of the 3 and 4 series compact, cheap cabs, you get everything much better

So I just got a 4066R last year only 35 hours and would really liked to have the larger hp with the hydrostatic transmission. It did take 8 months to get the the tractor delivered bc of all sorts of excuses from dealer but I did get everything I could get essentially except 540e PTO. I have many questions but I checked the JD website and the PTO hp is the same as 4066 at 51.9? or maybe just incorrect information but it seems that the PTO was not upgraded any to match a higher hp engine. I do LOVE my 4066R even though if I had waited 12 months I would have ordered a 4075R if the PTO was larger bc the cutoff point for most attachments that are used traditionally with the 5 series or greater have a minimum of 55 hp such as bailing equipment etc. There is enough weight to counter balance with fluid in rear tires and wheel weights to match the pulling requirements and tongue weight etc. The idea of LED lighting is great as also was not an option from OEM at the time. The 3 point upgrades are absolutely worth it I would believe from my very limited experience - hitch assist and electro hydraulic control from the cab. It seems that if possible JD should be doing more with series 4 and 5 to make even more user friendly for folks who would like the greater hp and capabilities with the ease of use of the transmission options and PTO amongst many more upgrades/options bc if you are spending $100,000 on a tractor and attachments they should really do all the work for you. But I agree with others who state the cab is as comfortable as a car and handles just about as easy.

Great video Tim! What an awesome machine I can’t wait to see your upcoming videos with it. John Deere is absolute quality and this tractor is a fine example and such they are charging a premium price for it. The three point control is awesome, those electric over hydraulic 3 point hitch controls were pioneered in the very first 7000 and 8000 series tractors. Something new then but now almost 30 years old and proven tech. My main gripes on that machine and the price point is, the rear wiper only seems to cover the window mainly over your right shoulder which is understandable but I think they could have made it cover the entire window edge to edge, and I don’t bunk bragging about a return to home wiper isn’t something I would mention as an improvement, kind of embarrassing it hasn’t been like that for a while, my 38k Massey has return to home wipers lol. Also for a machine of this size that will see large commercial and municipal use when is Deere going to go to ground level fueling like their larger machines and much of the competition. It will be interesting to see if this new model and price justifies its existence for another 8 PTO HP over the 4066R. Deere has also kept the rating on the 3pt hitch 24” back at 2500lbs which is very low in comparison to competitors. Just my .02 as always! Best of luck to you in the new machine can’t wait to see you putting it to the test.

Curious Tim ... If I may ask ... I went and test drove a 3039R w/ cab and found the loader control stick to be quite 'stiff' to move, especially to the left and right (bucket curl and dump). I could not keep my arm on the arm rest and use the loader stick, especially left and right movements. Perhaps, I just need to lift some weights (and less cheeseburgers) ;-) Could you please let me know if the loader control stick is easy, or is it a bit hard to move in both the 3R and 4R tractors? I found the non-cab version much easier to move. Someone had told me the cab model uses cables to connect the loader control handle to the valves below it; this may be contributing to the difference between the cab and non-cab models. Please let me know the 'difficulty' if any, in moving the loader control handle; in the 3R and 4R tractors (cab version). One dealer told me it 'may' be a 'gets easier over time with use' thing.?.? At 60 pto hp it will operate a small 4x4 round baler. ON FLAT GROUND! On hills the tractor weight will not be enough to hold back on a hill with a full bale. It would dangerous on hilly/steep ground. Use a 5075E or larger for that application. My safety advice for the day.

@@davidmidkiff2909 a 4R cab weighs almost 5k stock, probably pushing 7-8 with loaded tires, wheel weights, and loader/front weights. A 4x5 450E baler weighs 4K (5k with a bale). From a google search: What is black nitride coating? Black nitride is an extremely durable finish that is achieved via the QPQ method of "quench polish quench." You'll see better from the engine side (rear side of the connector) green (CAN-L) and yellow (CAN-H) lines are CAN bus. I guess it's similar to any model starting with 2R series - hidden but there. Can't talk for others than my 2036R but on that 2036R it's connecting all the stuff together, instrument cluster, engine control, mower deck control, ... I guess it's hidden because CAN bus do need termination on the data lines.

Few bells and whistles, just the stuff you need. Also, the cab is roomier. I'd say, that 5055E is just the modern version of the small loader tractor, or Mowing etc tractor found on every small and med farm ever. For a livestock farm, it's your daily driver chore tractor that also cuts and rakes hay, mows fencelines, runs augers, moves things around, and whatever else you need done that doesn't require lots of grunt or a 1000 rpm pto. (and doesn't guzzle as much fuel as those bigger tractors, either) The 4R series is more for homeowners, stables, landscaping outfits, etc. Esp Folks with less experience and who appreciate the extra creature comforts, like a hydrostat trans, Remote hitch controls, etc. They likely have less need for the extra beef and ruggedness of a full utility as well. Interesting, that they now make a 75hp version. I hadn't thought about the snow removal gig. Looks like a nice machine, tho- esp that beefy front axle! I THINK the 5075E MAY be part of the larger frame series of the 5's, but don't quote me on that. That would make for even more differences between a 4075R and a 5075E.

So is the engine the same as the 4066r with a software upgrade or does it actually have different hardware on it to get the 9hp. Also did they put a 12v aux power port on the right side or is it still on the left even though anything you put in would be on the right window?

Friends talked me into buying an RK55, which was a terrible mistake. I have owned a 4320 for 9 years and an NX6010 for 3 years with no issues. My 2024 4075r that I ordered is doing close to an 1800-mile trip but should be here in 3 weeks.

Does it have two speed pto?

It is an option. This one does not have it…at least I could not find a control for it.

You should experiment and see if the 4075R (on level ground) is capable of pulling something like the S250 MoCo. It is technically within spec for HP and hydraulics. Only concern might be weight of the mower itself. Could be a game changer for the small hay operations or large hobbyists.

My understanding on the black cylinder rods is that the black coating is more rust resistant than chrome. Since many compact/sub-compact tractors do not get used often, pitting and rust on the chrome rods is an issue. Chrome is fine for machines used regularly because the rods get a coating of hydraulic fluid when they are retracted. On my excavator with chrome rods, the user manual says that if the machine is to be stored for a length of time ( over a month, IIRC), to fully retract all rods, if possible.

It is cheaper to do that treatment than hard chrome !

Tim correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that TYM has been using an electric rear lift for sometime. Great video I wonder if Pete (GCI) knew this tractor was coming when he ordered his 4066R?

He (nor I) knew at the time of his order….or even at the time of delivery.

That was a funny video! I'm sure whom ever designed that rear wiper is going to get an ear full when he goes back to work Tuesday! LOL!

Excuse me for asking but I have a good question. Is a green star GPS compatable with a 3r or 4r? Reason I am asking is, (I may sound like a fool here) I've been figuring out the basis of the cartoon styled machines from the johnny tractor books and products made by ertl and the videos on the official john deere kids channel on KZbin. And yes I do collect the johnny tractor products myself.

Love the Johnny Tractor stuff! Probably designed off the larger machines.

Surprised there are no mirrors. I couldn't operate my tractor without my wing mirrors. Surprised that is Cat 1 also. It looks beefy but still Cat 1. With my 60 Hp Orange tractor I abuse the 3 pt hitch and new Pats Ezy Change. I would LOVE to have the external control on the 3pt hitch. This is still the most difficult thing about the tractor is hooking up rear attachments.

Third comment is the charm: Those 4 series are lovely tractors, and id love to get one with a cab. Also, i love hydrostatic tractors, they seem to handle the bumps and jars of our rocks better than gear drive tractors, at least transmission wise. While thats been my experience, im sure others will argue the point, its just what i e observed in my area.

Definitely would prefer the DPF filter with regen, than DEF fluid. The coating looks like nitride, or some other form of DLC(diamond like coating) they use it in firearms and it definitely protects the metal.
@MrRandalhandle Жыл бұрын
The dpf is pretty disappointing most manufacturers no longer need them or def on 75hp machines, Deere included. The 5075 no longer has a dpf.
@williamgaines9784 Жыл бұрын
@@MrRandalhandle the entire concept of both was #tyranny anyway.
@hoosierfarmkid Жыл бұрын
@@MrRandalhandle I believe the DOC system used to avoid DPF is basically a DPF that is always hot/in regen where you don’t have as much filter plugging, but still have the hot exhaust and fuel usage. I don’t believe any 75hp class machines have ever used DEF as the entire point of that power rating is it’s the point where the emissions limits change (which is why DEF gets used above it)

I’d like to see the difference in fuel consumption between the 4066r and the 4075r since they did not increase fuel capacity. Also the fuel consumption difference between the 4075r and 5075e would be interesting.

Don’t forget about the LED headlights as a new feature on both too! I would imagine you could swap headlight housings with previous models. I own a 3039R and might attempt this myself at some point.
