Hello Tim and Kristie, I have finally found me a tractor that will be great for me. I found it on Facebook Market Place; it's a new TYM T264 with a loader and backhoe. I drove 3 1/2 hours north here in Michigan up by Alpena. The dealer had one out in the lot with just a loader. I watched every video on KZbin about T264, and a lot of people give this tractor high marks. The dealer said it's about the same as the John Deere 3036E. This thing is built heavy duty for a 2 series tractor. I had the dealer see how much more it would be to have a backhoe put on it. While the dealer was doing his checking, I test drove it around the grounds. It's a hydrostatic drive with high and low range, 4-wheel drive, no cab, 540 RPM PTO. The one thing I really like about this tractor is that you don't have to remove any of the 3-point hitch arms. Tony, with Tony's Tractor Adventures, demoed the T264; he liked it so much that he bought one. Anyway, I really think this is going to do what I need a tractor for. It only took me two years to convince my finance committee to get one. Love the videos. Keep up the good work, and God bless and stay safe and be kind.

When you get a good driver it can make or break a day on the job. With good base prep like your doing a seasoned dump truck driver can nearly do a finish pass and your just there for clean up on edges.

Liked watching the 6ft pull box on the new tractor. I see how beneficial the pull type blade is. I can struggle getting good results with my 3 pt blade and the pull blade seems like it performs better and maybe a bit easy to work with. Drive way gravel looks great. Nice improvement at the road turn off.

try setting grade stakes to outline you ditch, 2ft offset on each side, we normally do 50ft but on smaller projects 20 or 25 ft might work better. Mark you stakes with the amount of cut or fill for each stake, this let's you know were to cut or fill from the tractor seat.

I am becoming a fan of the pull behind box blade for that kind of work. As you said, it is much more forgiving of the dips and humps than the 3 point blade, and spreads so much nicer. Christy, nice work with the video and the drone. (as always) Blessings and Happy Thanksgiving.

I've got a 3520 and I love it I don't see anything wrong with it I don't know why they stopped making it I guess I'd have to look into the newer one which is the upgrade and see what they done different for the whole reason why they do away with making a 3520 but it runs great everything works perfect I mean it's just all around good tractor it's not too big for yards I mean if you want to do fieldwork and everything you might not can do that but depending on what you doing of course but other than that I can work in customer yards I need mow grass with it it's got a belly mower that goes on it I can mow Acres on top of Acres with it I mean it's just a perfect tractor to me far as home type tractor you know not granted we do use it in commercial stuff but we don't use it obviously for heavy stuff we use it for the stuff that this size tractor would work for and it's just been a perfect tractor for me it's just been God's blessing and I consider everything I got God loaning it to me then I try to take care of everything the Lord gives me but I can't find a complaints on it the only one thing I would say is it's narrow and that makes it feel a little Tippy sometimes especially when you got heavy loads in the bucket but I don't know if that's normal or the normal size or what I don't know if you can put some spacers on the tires to make it spread out a little bit on top of which I don't have any weight on my tractor I don't have any kind of weights on the wheels or anything like that I think that would help out a lot too but that stuff's kind of expensive buying weights so I haven't done that yet and I might give it a try and we have the 300X front loader with a 4 in 1 bucket on it which works really good so I don't know the only downside to for me for any kind of tractor with a loader and especially when you got a skid steer that you can do to load or work with is you just can't see your bucket like you can with a skid steer let's face the hood is always going to be an issue when it comes to seeing you know your bucket using forts works great all those kind of things but bucket work unless you do a lot of bucket work with it where you just know it by feel and all that it's always a little more harder to do than it is with your skid steer so other than that though love my 3520 thank the Lord for it

Why not use basic landscaping box set to degree angle for grading Drainage trench , do you know why certain tractors have two levers for rear attachment settings .

The main thing I've seen from the current series would be the benefit of a pull type box blade over the traditional 3pt. Couldn't imagine doing this project with a dirt scoop or a rear blade. That would take a long time.

Do you think you'll get erosion on the banks? My parents had a diversion drain swail similar and mother nature decided that was the best way to exhaust all the water. 2ft banks because 4ft in one season. Ended up having to put a bridge over it.

Hi Tim. If you had a heavy rain will it handle the surge of water or will it end up in your pond? You may have to make the pond side of the ditch higher to keep it from happening. Since I bought my 1.5 as I call it or my 2025R I find me using it more than I did my 33R. They really are amazing little but mighty machines. Thanks for sharing.

The main reason for us to take the hump down was for cosmetic purposes. It was ugly. The original hump was created from the original pond excavation….before we bought the property. Does that help?

(edited after looking though the Canamek website) I enjoy watching your videos showing the laser controlled box blade but the system is quite expensive for an average compact tractor owner. Have you tried using any of the $450 to $700 machine magnetically mounted laser receivers, like a spectra CR700 or Topcon LS-B10? Ideally I'd like to find one very similar to these, that includes electrical outputs like the Canamek systems, but at a lower cost. Are you aware of anything like that? Thinking about the typical compact tractor owner, instead of the ultimate automated solution specifically for a box blade, I'd love to see you review some of the following lower cost, more flexible options. Personally I'm in the middle of researching this stuff because we have several projects where we need to control the elevation and slope. This includes repairing our septic drainage field (a delivery driver drove on it crushing 1/2 of the runs), replacing two culverts under our driveway, dredging the creek that runs across our property and spreading & grading 30 tandem dump truck loads of fill over the lower section of our front yard. The most basic solution I'm looking at starts with the same outdoor laser on a tripod, with the auto level locked, producing an appropriately sloped laser plane that all of these options need. On the tractor end there would be one of those laser receivers mentioned above that are designed to mount to a machine. I can move it between the backhoe, front end loader, box blade, etc. The indicator lights are bright enough to be viewed outside, the beeper indicating high/low/level is apparently loud enough to hear above the tractor, and I would manually adjust the height of the implement to get the desired grade. The price and ability to move it to different accessories are some of the pros, and it is also very flexible. I can use it to directly control the height of a machine surface (eg. the bottom of a bucket) or use it to measure height (eg. when the backhoe teeth are pointing directly at the ground and are just touching it, the height is correct). The next level up from that is machine mounted laser detector like above that includes a wireless remote. This does all of the above but adds a display right in front of you, at the tractor. This allows you to install the detector in a position you might not be able to see it at all times, plus helps with sound and sunlight. Up from that, is machine mounted laser detector like above that includes electrical outputs that can be used to directly control a Summit Hydraulic (or similar) electrically controlled spool valve. This is what I really would like to find but so far haven't found one at what I consider a reasonable cost ($800 to $1200). Canamek's lowest cost option currently sells for close to $4000 (Cdn) and that is for just the detector end. You still need the laser source, etc. Of course the ultimate solution is what you have with your box blade. Implements that include everything from the laser detectors to automated hydraulic controls.

At that price I (and probably most compact tractor owners) am probably going to go with one of the options without the ability to electronically control the spool valve (human control...).
