Reminds me of a Tracy I fell in love with way back in 1997. She was hostess at a restaurant I used to go to quite a bit. She could just take one's breath away everytime she smiled. The trouble was, I seemed to always get mixed messages from her. Was she actually interested in me or just being flirty? That "problem" was finally "solved" when she moved to Las Vegas and I never saw her again. I've never 100% gotten over her though. But ya just gotta soldier on I guess.

This song holds a special meaning or me. My younger sister and I were 14 months apart. When we were kids, we had the 45 and we'd sing this together. Her name was Tracey and she felt special she had a song named after her. Fast forward many decades, she and her husband were hospitalized and died of Covid in 2020 just as everything was shutting down. Her spouse died a few days before her. When I got the call from the doctor saying she had passed, this was the first song that came to my mind. They were inseparable and I envisioned him taking her hand saying, "Come with me, don't say no, Tracy never, ever let me go." She would not have wanted to live without the love of her life.

Love this song, greatest bubble gum love ballad ever, IMO. I was a beginner trumpet player when it came out and it took me 2 years to be able to hit those notes. I know there's a trombone in that recording, not on this stage for lip (or horn syncing). A deep toned baritone sax can come close to sounding like a trombone but not that tenor sax the guy's playing.
