I absolutely love my 6.0, I think it’s a great truck. 2006, crew cab lariat. Head studs, egr delete, 58v ficm, exhaust and a tune. Id take her anywhere. I’m digging the dually, she’s pretty clean! I’ll def be watching.

while your doing coolant system stuff, mine as well get a new coolant cap. they are known to cause problems if there old. I replaced my whole degas tank to fix that problem and made the engine bay look better not being that old yellow color.

Good luck, I'm looking to buy one too and I'm staying away from the 6.0 I see alot of them for a good deal much harder to find any of the others but going to look at a 2010 f250 with a 6.4L 4x4 with 164k miles for $15k. Been looking for months and all I can find is 6.0's.

@@JustAverageJeff why would you stay away from 6.0 but get a 6.4? that's even more unreliable and expensive
@JustAverageJeff2 ай бұрын
@@autismion Ford tech told me that the 6.4 and 6.7 are about the same in terms of reliability with the 6.7 being more expensive, the 7.3 being the most reliable and the 6.0 being the least reliable if you go to a diesel shop the majority of the trucks they see is the 6.0 powerstroke way more than any other ford.
@autismion2 ай бұрын
@@JustAverageJeff Weird. Maybe that's because they only made the 6.4 for 3 years, while the 6.0 lasted 5 and the 6.7 has been going for 13 years. I decided to just look at 6.7s and 7.3s, ended up with a 7.3 although I overpaid a bit. Why not an LBZ duramax instead of a 6.4?

Iv had 6.0ls some had issues some didnt until i got them (i drove the shit outta them cant blame them for failing on my yeehawing) but i always find my way back to a 6.0l love the trucks im gonna ve getting another one here soon as my farm truck my wife is just thrilled (shes not) 🤣🤣

How the hell did ford think the front end on 11/12's were an upgrade from 05/06 era? 08 to 10 were a step WAY back as well, which brings me to 24+ headlights, WTF?? im pretty stuck on my 96 style wise, but its sure not a modern truck lol

How it always goes when you buy it from the dealer, they get it going great while it's there cover up it's issues, that's why its recommended to bring it to a mechanic. This is why I don't want a 6.0 and am looking for literally any other power stroke. Going to look at 2010 f250 with a 6.4 4x4 and 164k miles for $15k on Monday been looking for few months and lots of great deals for the 6.0 of all flavors not so much for any of the others. It's a really nice truck regardless.

The 6.4 has far more problems then the 6.0, best best is going all in and getting a 6.7 or finding an early 2000s 7.3
@JustAverageJeff2 ай бұрын
@@popupheadlights would love to but not very many for sale that makes sense mostly 6.0’s. From what I’ve heard from a ford tech is that the 6.0 is the least reliability the 6.4 and 6.7 are about the same reliable but the 6.7 is more expensive to repair and I would totally take a 7.3 if I could find one but those are all over $30k if it doesn’t have half a million miles. If it is in my budget than it’s beat up I looked at getting one but it was 5 hours away and it sold before I could make plans to get out there. I see 10 6.0’s per 6.4 and 5 6.4’s before seeing 1 7.3 and the 7.3 is always super rough looking with a ton of miles in my price range. If I could just have my pick of whatever I would get 7.3 but I’m trying to finance a 15 year old diesel with over 100k miles, normal banks only lens out for 2015 and newer with 100k miles or less and I just don’t want to spend 50k for a newer one.
@DieselTechFred2 ай бұрын
Im enjoying my 6.0 so far , but I did have a 6.4 previously and it was a solid truck too. Had 297k miles when I bought and only had to replace the HPFP gasket due to it leaking oil , both the 6.0 and 6.4 were deleted and tune when I got them so I didn’t have to worry about emissions problems. My current 6.7 has been the best truck I just get in and go but I still worry about the cp4 going out which the 6.4 has them too. In all honestly picking what powerstroke you want is personal preference, every truck has its own pros and cons but all that matters is how the truck has been taken care of.
@JustAverageJeff2 ай бұрын
@@DieselTechFred I want a 7.3 but my budget won’t allow it. The truck I’m going to look at doesn’t use DEF and has a K20 fuel pump only 164k miles so I think it’s a great deal at over $4k under blue book at $15k and the most I’ve seen is $2k under. 2010 f250 6.4L 4x4 with oversized tires with a spare on the chase rack, bumper and winch, so I wouldn’t have to do anything like that to it. The time to buy a good deal is when you see it or someone else will buy it if you don’t. I’m also moving to a county that doesn’t require smog so I’m stoked I get to delete and EGR I do get. How many miles does your 6.4 have now or did it have when you junked it or sold it?
@DieselTechFred2 ай бұрын
I hear ya , the 6.4 was a quick flip bc my friend wanted it and sold it to him, he had for around a year and probably put 10k miles as his daily and he didn’t have any issue. I will say I did have a hot start issue that I could never figure out, but ran top notch with a 80hp tune. Personally I wouldn’t mind having another 6.4 but that’s me bc I enjoy troubleshooting and fixing trucks. I will say when you go tomorrow check the oil first before starting , check blow by and notice if the exhaust has a haze from idling. They are solid trucks.
