It was probably the most receptive audience I have ever had. They sat through nearly 4 and a half hours of me talking, and a little live trading at the beginning of the evening. If you were there, I just can't thank you enough for making this so memorable. I will be forever grateful for the camera operator Alex, who had flown in to capture the whole event. The full event is for the time being only available to those who attended the talk. I imagine in the new year I will release it to the public.

I love the comparison made to musicians because it is SO true. You have musicians out there who focus only on one music style and everyone's like: "Wow - that guy/girl played Jazz like hell. They must be the next Mozart." My butt - most of them (not all of them, but most) can play ONLY that one thing brilliantly, because sadly that's all they've ever focused on and tried in life. The real musical geniuses do exactly what you said - they push themselves into new and to them strange types of music, on and on, until they feel they are good, if not brilliant, at them all in most situations. That's what also distinguished Mozart in his lifetime - that he could play so many different things, not that he just played Bach almost as well as Bach himself or such.

I started trading not long ago, I practice small size and purposely making mistakes. Trying to catch bottoms, to spot bounces, holding losers, doubling down, and way overtrading. All intentional. It was a good way for me to learn what doesn't work. Controlling risk with small size, it took discipline to do. Understanding and perspective came later. I experienced the pain while noticing my mental states during. More patience for right set ups is what I have learned from all my purposeful loosing, also how the market behaves. Exposure therapy as I call it. Always a student of the market.
