The synchronicity!!! I had a bad bout of depression the past 3 days and as I was trying to come out of the fog, I sat outside just staring at my garden plants. Didn't have a thought in my head for a couple mins & was actually surprised I didn't. I realized it is something I need to do more of...just being. Nothing more than just being. It felt amazing knowing I could actually do this! 🙏💖✨

I find that my excitement over what seems “good” is directly proportional to the level of crisis I go into when things go south. What I have found, is that over time, what seems “good” when it happens is often not when looking back on it years later, and vice versa. I think the truth is, right now is all we have ever had, and what happens is neither good nor bad. It is both.

There's something about Alan that is irreplaceable. His tone and way of speaking. His wisdom and eloquence. You never sense that he's preaching, but merely trying to open our very being, everything about us, so that we can see who we truly are, and live accordingly.❤ Brilliant scholar, and his words often bring tears. ❤ Thank you for creating this channel. There will never be another person anything like him. He will live on forever , quite amazing when you think of the irony on how he talks about the purpose of life . I believe his way of speaking is because he is in the flow state he wasn’t trying , he wasn’t working he was living .he has unparalleled confidence in speaking . i feel more people need to know of him. anytime I can’t sleep, feel depressed or lonely he has gotten me through it .

@ChildofGod98765 -- First, I am sorry things are so tough for you right now. From your comment I believe you are a Christian, yes? Fyi: Alan Watts (the philosopher speaking in this video) I believe was an atheist....and a sharp critic of Christianity (all religion maybe?). That does not mean you cannot still find his words helpful (sounds like you did). Of course, Jesus of Nazareth himself, in the Sermon on the Mount, teaches that we should not worry (overthink). And Paul speaks of a similar, although Christ-centered, "stop overthinking" meditation.: "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." -- Philippians 4:7
@brianreid41696 ай бұрын
Matthew 6:25-34. Be careful with Christianity and other people’s interpretations of it. Christians have a tendency to dwell too much on the past and place too much hope in the future. Life happens now. Focus more on the blessings that you currently have and less on the things you do not have. Do what is best for you and your kids today. No amount of worry, stress, or anxiety has ever really changed the outcome of any situation. When we live in the past, we suffer from depression. When we live for the future, we suffer from anxiety. When we live here and now, we are at peace. We can’t really live unless we live fully in the here and now.

@Captain_Klown2 ай бұрын
@bradcarroll-n8x Not that I have a side in this, but I didn't ever think that's how prayers woked, or were thought to work. You make it sound narcissistic, weirdly. I assumed praying was a person putting positive energy out into the world in hopes that if a person needed it, when they had a hardship, there would be enough hope or positivity make them keep pressing on. And I would assume anyone could put out positive energy for anyone else to take in because one person thinking of someone/something more than themselves would be a blessing for everyone to enjoy.
