I once did have an echo SRM-2100. Which is the older version of this one. I loved it until it was ran over and destroyed by my crazy grandfather. Now I have a 2007 echo srm-230 and it’s now my favorite trimmer I’ve ever used! These old echos were always awesome. Thanks for another awesome video! And I agree friends and the important people in your life matter more than money!

Nice trade in my book. I don't "charge" my friends. Most show up with a 6-pack of suds, or shop rags, or brake cleaner anyways as a gesture, and I am grateful. I'm pretty much treat people like I want to be treated. Does your friend even realize the lopsided value of the two trimmers? Not that it really matters... you both seem happy with the deal, and that's what counts.

I like the Ryobi trimmers because they are a good bang for the buck but those old 210's are sturdy trimmers. If you take care and put the correct mix in them it just might outlast you.

I ran Stihl mix and never had any trouble but non-ethanol gas does better.
@GuysPlayingWithTools Жыл бұрын
@@lewiemcneely9143 It might, I run regular pump gas with BlackMax mix and it works pretty well. In my mind, the money I save not buying canned fuel will buy me a new set of tools in about 2 years 🙂

I got my tools years ago when I was on the dams and bought odds and ends as needed from then on. Now that we have the battery blowers my collection of Tru-fuel gallons will last the Stihl and Echo for years. They just blow the mower off of clippings so far now. But the Stihl orange bottle worked so good I was scared to try and take the plug out of the 45 because it had been there for years and still ran fine.@@GuysPlayingWithTools

The answer to your question on where the trimmer came from like six years ago, you made a video about this echo trimmer not getting up to full speed and it was because the spark arrestor was clogged. that’s where this trimmer came from.

I used to allow myself to be taken advantage of like this in exchange for greater potential future returns. This was how my father used to do business with his friends, who were Silent Generation. Needless to say...I don't do that any more as that mentality died with the Silent Generation. Charity begins at home in the modern age.

Money's not everything!! I pick up old mowers, blowers and trimmers and get them running and if a friend or neighbor needs one, I just give it to them. I will also repair any friend or neighbors machines for the cost of parts. If their machine is not repairable I give them something that is running and ready to go to work for them. My wife questions my sanity, but if I can help someone, I'm ok with that!!

it's actually an airless paint sprayer from Harbor Freight, I just water in a bucket to feed it. Great pressure that won't hurt your skin and it uses very little water.

Gday brother , my misses brought home a 4 stroke Honda gx35 line trimmer from a garage sale . It runs well - but when I put it on full throttle and then let go the cable releases fine . But the control arm at the carb Sticks open , and I need to manually release it from the sticking point . Once I start to get it unstuck from the fully open position ….it flick’s back the rest of the way buy it’s self just fine . And thoughts 💭🤷 👣🦘👍
@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE Жыл бұрын
interesting, there should be a small metal roller that the top of the barrel rolls on. I wonder if someone took the carb apart and that roller fell out. That missing roller might be enough to cause it to stick open. If you want I'd just replace the carb, and keep the original as a backup.
