Love how you explained all the dishes. My husband is from Kolkatta and I am from MP and I cook Bengali food at least once a week - it is vegetarian and he eats his fish outside:) Thank you for sharing these recipes, and looking forward to more Bengali dishes.

Hi! Wonderful video. I have a suggestion; make a video in which the menu is made up of every part of the banana tree and its fruit is used. You know, mocha, thor, kanchkola, kola (banana), and some vegan paturi. You know how we Bengalis make maximum use of this one tree.

Great idea! We might take this up the next time we are in Kolkata. And thanks for posting the comment on KZbin, everyone else has just posted it on WhatsApp! 😭

Hi Vidhi n Ritwik 👋🏼 Your channel is very Unique and I enjoy watching content U make ❤ After watching this video, I got a thought: Indian food culture is is so abundant and we hardly know n eat non-popular but tasty local dishes Like u showed, eggplant n banana flower. Hope U start ur restaurant again with this new concept 😊 State-wise non popular dishes from different states of India with whole food plant based n raw options! 😊 💚🌱🙏🏼

Ya. Absolutely. It’s really amazing and unbelievable how diverse the food culture is. We are not sure about starting a restaurant again any time soon but it’s a good idea and we’ll keep it in mind!

Oo! I hope to see a video like this from every region! I knew that India is very diverse and that most of the Indian restaurant food in my area is South Indian and I have always wondered what the food from other areas is like. I have a good supply of mustard seeds, so I might try that creamy mustard dish. It looks intriguing. Thanks for this video!

soak mustard seed, preferably yellow , without skin. Dark ones often turn bitter. Grind with salt and green chili to prevent bitterness.

@@nmo3148 Thank you for the tips! The mustard seeds I have are the black ones. They won't work for the creamy gravy? Can anything be done to tone down or prevent the bitterness?

recently discovered your channel through a guy called David from vegan everywhere. I am a vegan from Nepal living in australia. Nepalese also use mustard oil a lot. Good luck with the channel. I just noticed that David makes an appearance in the video too!

Yes! David and Natalia loved the meal and we loved their company. It was a fun meal. It’s nice to know that you use mustard oil in Nepal - I didn’t know that! Once you develop a taste for it, it feels like something is missing without it

How many calories?

No idea, to be honest! The oil is going to be the major contributor so if you’d like you could control the amount of oil according to your requirement.
