Yes do try it. Even akki roti that is a delicious breakfast in karnataka, is also a breakfast in Kashmir. We call it tomul chhot. 🙂. I have lived in karnataka for 10 years, and loved the food because of the similarities.

For dumaloo i pressure cook them for one whistle. Even if they are hard, they cook easily after frying. In fact now i straightaway fry them without boiling, prick them nice with toothpick, they turn out just as well and save time for me. 🙂

@perfectlyimperfectwoman74 жыл бұрын
I have been enjoying rajma with ginger and garlic since decades now.
@carrad1234563 жыл бұрын
ginger or garlic or tomato or onion or coriander is recent addition in KP cuisine as per my discussions, by recent it means 40-50 years which is minuscule in history specially 5000 year old history of kashmir! Rajma in true kashmiri style is enjoyed more with turnips or alone with good amount of red Chilli, oil and fennel and hing. Enjoy!

Wazwan is mostly non veg if I'm not wrong . Just one question are kp and dogra Brahmin non vegetarians??
@perfectlyimperfectwoman73 жыл бұрын
Yes Wazwan is non veg. Kps were non vegetarians because historically we didn't have access to fresh vegetables in extreme winters, so we relied on fauna or dried vegetables that we dried during summers to consume in winters. But now food preference is more of a choice. I am not sure about dogris.
@swetharamshetty1093 жыл бұрын
Hi! Nice to see Kashmiri cuisine has so many veg varieties 🤗🤗🤗Wonder where can get to taste ? I’m visiting Srinagar, can you please suggest some veg hotels where I get to taste them ?
@perfectlyimperfectwoman73 жыл бұрын
Hi Swetha, I am not sure if you will get this cuisine in Srinagar, unless you know someone from the pandit community who are still there. If you happen to visit Jammu, you can get to taste this kind of vegetarian meal in restaurants. But i am not sure because we no longer live there. And when I happen to visit my relatives, we eat at home. But you will have plenty if choices if you are a non vegetarian. And you might get some veg recipes, like collard green, muli raita and rajma alongside

Our kosher Wazan is the Royal Food. This is not ❌ kosher wazwan. This is poor Indian meals.
@perfectlyimperfectwoman74 жыл бұрын
I never said it is wazwan. It is what kashmiri pandits eat. And definitely not poor meals. It is vegetarian meal that we kashmiri pandits have been eating since ages. If you don't like it, please don't comment. Also indian meals across the country are delicious, healthy and have variety of taste.. And let's not pass judgments here. There is more than one royal meal. I have eaten wazwan, and alot of otber meals and I can assure you there are a lot of royal delicacies across India that are as good as wazwan. And I don't appreciate any hate on my channel .

@@sheikhsakeena6000 i am sorry but kashmiri pandits are very much the original inhabitants of the valley of Kashmir since thousands of years. We are not Israelis or jews, not that its an issue. Jews are most intelligent and prosperous community in the world, but we are very much from land of bharat in kashmir. In fact we are descendants of Rishi Kashyap, and fun fact is Kashmir was named after Kashyap.

@@sheikhsakeena6000 i am very flattered by your interest in the discussion. Let's leave it at that. Let's also remember our land was invaded by a lot of people from outside who mingled with us, some got married and converted and that changed the demographics, hence the similarity in facial features. The only ones who didn't marry, mingle or convert with invaders was the remaining pandits who preserved their identity . Iam sure you are right about yourself and i don't doubt that. I am talking about my origin and I guess lets assume i would know about my roots better than someone else 😌 won't I. Besides proof and books I can only say that there are some versions that are not accurate and falsely portrayed. I respect your assumptions though. It was nice talking to you Thanks for stopping by my channel. Jai hind
