The tarp and blanket looks very cool. Definitely would be great for car camping. It is nice when you can find a quality wool blanket.

I actually watched this twice, because your enthusiasm is palpable. I completely get it; if you're into canvas and wool gear this looks like the bees knees. Going to be an expensive January for me now, I'm sure 😆

Just bought cowboy bedroll, with kinsize merino wool blanket, 3x3 tarp and oil skin ground sheet. Very impressed with quality certainly will last years. Also, as you pointed out there's something about the feeling of the oldschool material. Expensive purchase but well worth it 🙂

Thanks for the review - clearly a worthwhile investment - I've added 'Bushcraft Spain gift-vouchers' to my Christmas list - fingers crossed I may be lucky enough to get enough for one of these to accompany my 10' waxed tarp and insulated ground-cloth from Thornhill Ultra Heavy!

that blanket looked amazing, then i looked up the pirce. but no doubt it's worth every penny! i have inherited a fine camel wool blanket, made in the 70s (thanks to the now banned eulan it's permanently moth proof) and i will be holding on to it, untill i pass it to somebody eventually. it's relatively thin and very densely woven, and paired with a soft cotton sheet, it's just the most comfortable thing i ever slept under. nothing for freezing temps, but it's comfy anywhere between 7-25°C night temps. good luck finding a sleeping back that does that! it feels kinda cool at first, whe you're chilly, but quickly gets just as warm as you wanna be at night. and just like you said, you can take that warmth with you on a cold morning. the thermal capacity and regulation are next to none. TL;DR: good wool blankets are the best.

So glad I came across this video. I bought the 10’x10’ or 3x3 meters and the ground cloth. Now I had the wool blanket in my cart however it was a twin. After watching this video I switched to the king size because you made a great point about multiple layers over you. Where did you get those big blanket clips?

Would be interesting to know if your 3 x3 tarp is actually the size they state, mine is 10" smaller in both directions, stitching is shit and got stung for £69 to get it into uk, on top of the £15 shipping costs. To pay return postage to send it back would be £99 out of pocket, they really saw me coming. Upsets me every time I look at it.
