As one of those that fits the label of redneck, I thank God for trae and his friends. It's awesome having someone represent the south without the hate. There are more of us blue dots in red states than most people think but still nowhere near enough. Lot of dumb and angry in my neck of the woods but Trae, Cho and Drew gives me hope.

@@quackenbush723well IIRC there were plenty of egalitarian left movements that were started for people we often call "rednecks." Although what you hear most about is unions forming in coal mining towns to get better pay and/or benefits.

Listening to this in podcast form. What really shocks me about Trumpism is all these people who I thought were radicalized years/decades ago by talk radio - a lot of them actually weren't, and were taken in by Trump's lies and false promises, and to this day still believe he's their only chance out of having rotten lives. (Or at least he'll make everybody else's lives just as rotten). He makes the point that a lot of these working class types actually voted for Al Gore and are now full-on Trumpists. It's so very sad, because we'd have been so much better off if we'd had Gore, then maybe Obama, Hillary, Biden. Instead we had the costliest presidency in American history under Dubya, and later the most destructive, under Trump, and if he gets another, that will truly, I believe, be the end of American democracy.

@cynthiacochran7364 You are not alone. Mississippi is edging slowly toward mauve. I worked on Obama first campaign in southwest Mississippi. The Dems leave a lot of votes laying on the ground through lack of campaigning support and outreach. Saw that again with Mike Espy. Happening right now with Ty Pinkins. Winnable seats ignored by the DNC. Volunteer to help with that campaign. You'll feel less isolated while helping to push Mississippi towards blue.
